After 10 years in the famed Building 2 on General Electric's Schenectady campus, Rob founded Power Analytics Software and as an individual contributed to the success of numerous companies, including Siemens PTI and Public Service Enterprise Group. His innovative creations such as PS Optimal Power Flow, generation asset management tools, and the security-constrained economic dispatch optimization engine in PROMOD have had a profound impact on the industry. Rob's ground-breaking work in forecasting nodal Locational Marginal Prices (LMP) ultimately led to significant changes in financial instruments and transparency in the PJM market.
Rob's commitment to rapid response and tailored software solutions has resulted in a loyal customer base that benefits from cutting-edge technology and exceptional support. Steve's professional life is devoted to accelerating the transition towards environmentally responsible power generation. A licensed Professional Engineer, he earned his PhD in electrical engineering after 10 years in the electric power industry, including stints in power generation, energy storage siting, and ISO market administration. He has written or co-authored numerous peer-reviewed IEEE journal articles and holds two US patents in the electric vehicle charging sector.
An avid team builder, Steve excels in guiding his teams towards achieving ambitious and daring objectives. In 2020, Steve Burchett took the reins as CEO of Power Analytics software, succeeding his father, Rob, who founded the company in 1987. Under Steve's leadership, the company expanded to a team of 10 and embarked on an innovative software development journey.
As CEO, Steve has focused on internal growth. "We've gathered exceptional individuals, equipped them with the best technology, and laid out a challenging development path forward. We're rewiring our existing software with the latest GUI and API technology. We're taking our time and doing it right. Our goal is to not only produce a modern replacement for our existing software, but to build a knowledgeable team capable of maintaining and improving the software for years to come."
