Adam Jones is a passionate advocate, and a renewable energy and energy efficiency specialist who is dedicated to finding sustainable solutions to energy issues. He has been working and studying in the field for more than a decade, beginning as a Solar Energy International trained photovoltaic designer. In 2018, Adam completed a Master's in Environmental Studies with a focus on renewable energy and sustainable architecture policy. Areas of interest include the nexus of buildings and energy, sustainable building policy and practice, renewable energy and energy storage.
Adam is the founder and president of Sustainable HVAC Design, Inc. Adam has 11 years of experience in the residential HVAC design industry. He is HRAI-certified in air system and hydronics design and an IGSHPA-certified residential geothermal designer. He draws on his production and custom home experience to design energy-efficient systems with home comfort in mind. Bettina is the founder of Sage Living Toronto, a sustainable building consulting firm with a focus on health & wellbeing in the built environment. Bettina is a Subject Matter Expert on Indoor Environmental Quality with Enbridge's Savings by Design program and founding member of the GreenBuildingLearningZone.org, a green building education collaborative. An avid traveller, Bettina has lived and worked in the US, Germany, Spain, Bahamas, Uruguay and Canada.
Bofa is a sustainability professional with over seven years in the energy and environment industry. He has a Bachelor of Science in Energy and Petroleum Studies from Novena University in Nigeria and graduate certificates in Energy Management and Environmental Project Management from Seneca College in Toronto. In 2020, he graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Master of Environment and Business degree. He is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in the Building Science program at Toronto Metropolitan University, researching whole-life carbon reduction in new construction and building renovations.
Bofa‘s work experience is primarily in the built environment, working in the private and public sectors in roles that involve structural and environmental assessment of building structures, HVAC engineering design and sales, and facilities management. Bofa is a member of several industry associations, such as the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), the American Society for Heating Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), and the Project Management Institute (PMI). Constantine has been a member of the SBC board since 2004. He has twice served as Chair. His career spans more than 20 years in the energy conservation sector. He was the architect of Ontario's multi-billion-dollar, 900 MW conservation program portfolio at the Ontario Power Authority (now IESO). He has held executive roles with Enwave Corporation and the world's largest lake-based renewable cooling system, GreenSaver where he commercialized the social housing and low income retrofit programs. He is also an independent management consultant to new technology companies in the sector, advising on go-to-market and financing strategy.

Dave Petersen is a low-energy building specialist with 3 decades of experience in the built environment. David specializes in passive systems with an emphasis on fenestration product and application design. David is the founder of Outside In Design Build, a consultancy that assists developers, architects and builders achieve high performance goals by applying the Integrated Design Process to help balance energy use, carbon and first cost components of the build. David is also co-founder and partner in Citystem, a design/build entity that applies a panelized approach in creating small, bespoke Laneway and ADU residences that aid in thoughtful densification within the GTHA.

Dr. Randy Van Straaten is the President and a Building Science Specialist at Building Enclosure Labs Inc (BELi) in London Ontario. BELi is a client focused laboratory testing, analysis, and consulting firm bringing science and sustainability expertise to the building industry. Emily is a second-year PhD student in Geography at the University of Toronto, and a co-operator of a small home renovation company, Magnus Home Improvements. Her research seeks to determine how single-family homes can quickly and best be retrofit to achieve Toronto's emissions reductions targets - including net-zero by 2040 - as part of the TransformTO climate action plan. Specifically, she will assess the impact of municipal home energy reporting and disclosure programs, as well as produce recommendations for growing the retrofit labour force in ways that attend to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Further, her research seeks to understand how home retrofit activities can be regenerative and produce net-positive impacts for humans and the environment towards transformative, place-based sustainability. When not at her computer, Emily can be found cycling with her kids to and from school or making funky sounds on her analog synthesizer.

Gerry Cornwell, LC, is one of the leading lighting designers in Canada, with over 40 years experience as an award-winning independent designer with projects in the museum, art gallery, commercial, institutional and residential markets. He has been an independent consultant and lighting educator since 1981, with projects across Canada and in the United States. Gerry Cornwell is the founder of the only university level Lighting Design Certificate program in Canada, at Ryerson University. He conducts lighting education programs for the Illuminating Engineering Society, and for international clients.
Haley Rae is committed to using an intersectional approach to design, actively including and learning from people with a range of perspectives, and educating others about the diversity of ways to create spaces for all. She helps to lead and develop inclusive design strategies and practices across multiple complex projects and various public forums. She primarily focuses on services such as consulting, certification and benchmarking, guidelines and standards, building audits, and training. She contributes her technical expertise on national, provincial and municipal accessibility requirements and better practices. She actively practices allyship, and draws on her lived, professional and volunteer experiences to advocate for inclusion, equity and accessibility. Haley Rae's background in environmental design, and experience as a design educator at OCAD University, contribute to her unique perspective in accessibility consulting.

Jenny Hill (Jen) is an Assistant Dean in the Daniels Faculty at the University of Toronto, where she teaches Landscape Hydrology. Her consulting and research work encompasses both landscape and building scale water resources management. Prior to rejoining the University she was a Research Scientist and the primary technical author to the revised Ontario Conservation Authorities' online guide for the design of low impact development (LID) strategies for stormwater management. Jen has been contributing to the Savings by Design program for Sustainable Buildings Canada since 2015, and regularly participates in review panels for non-governmental organizations and municipalities. She holds degrees in Water Resources Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Forensic Science, and Chemistry.

Kevin has over 30 years of building science, enclosure engineering and restoration experience across Canada and the USA. He focuses on building performance, durability, and energy efficiency - he's a current member of standard committees: CSA S478 Guideline for Durability in Buildings, and CSA A440.6 High Exposure Fenestration Installation. In 1999, Kevin started the ULC-S716 series of EIFS standards as committee chairman, residing on the task group until 2008, then rejoining in 2021. He was on the ULC-S700A Thermal Insulation Committee from 1999-2008 as well as ULC-S700B from 2006-2012. Kevin received the Anthony A. Woods Award (the Beckie) by the Ontario Building Envelope Council in 2014. Kevin is a former member of ASTM E6, C11, and C16, on building performance, gypsum systems and thermal insulation materials. In 2021, Kevin was appointed ISO Technical Committee 163 - SC3 - Thermal insulation products, components and systems, and designated as the EIFS expert for Canada in Working Group 9.

Oleksandra Onisko is a founding principal at Pratus Group. With over 13 years of industry experience Oleksandra combines engineering and technical knowledge with a passion for sustainability. Robin Hutcheson has been a part of the SBC team since 2013, providing facilitation, and expertise with renewable energy, HVAC systems, and commissioning. He also served on the SBC Board of Directors. His engineering firm, Arborus Consulting works on high performance buildings and renewable energy supply. With the evolving impact of climate change, he has also turned his attention to Infrastructure Resilience, completing a professional program with the Climate Risk Institute and has prepared climate risk analysis for projects. Before joining ESG Global Advisors as a Principal, Sarah held senior roles at PwC, MNP and the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada) working with the energy and mining sectors. She has deep expertise in the business and financial impacts of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and climate change issues.
Scott is as a subject matter expert on enclosures. He is a LEED Accredited Professional, a Building Science Specialist (BSS), and Certified Engineering Technologist (CET). Scott successfully bridges the traditional gap between Architectural and Engineering disciplines and presents regularly on topics such as enclosure design, high performance building design, and existing building retrofits.

Sebastián is a Senior Building Performance Consultant who joined DIALOG with extensive experience in energy simulation and analysis, over a range of market sectors including commercial, education, healthcare, and residential buildings. Sebastián's focus is on the energy performance of buildings, including complying with local green building codes, attaining Net Zero or LEED certification, and hitting energy efficiency targets specific to an organization.
