SIXTH CREEK CATCHMENT GROUP

The catchment is 3000 hectares in the Mt Lofty Ranges. Sixth Creek is unique as it is now the only permanently flowing creek into the River Torrens. With its confluence with the River Torrens at Castambul, Sixth Creek contributes to the health of the River Torrens and Adelaide water supply. More than 40% of the original native vegetation remains within the catchment and a number of nationally threated animal and plant species have been found in the catchment... We are committed to working together to ensure that Kaurna and Peramangk culture and traditions are preserved and valued. Together we will care for this country for generations to come.
