Solon was that catalytic, historic figure who laid the foundations of the Athenian and Western, thereafter, world· course towards democracy and urban civilization, with an algorithm of legislative and other interventions in the history of the sixth century BC, thus, inaugurating the enduring model of democratic leadership, standards, ethos, of inspiration and of its ingenuity. In an age of crisis of models, we believe that the combination of the democratic, the rational, the liberal, the amphictyonic*, the anti-demagogic, the cosmopolitan, and the reflective model, which, in practice, the great legislator, sage, traveler, and lyric poet, the pre-Socratic Solon, introduced in, comes close to the demand of civilization and synthesis in the twenty-first century.·...
