Trained as a chemist (holding 11 patents for advanced polymers), he turned his creative skills to designing and creating wooden items with origins in the 18th and 19th century.
Growing up in Massachusetts, Jim developed a love of everything "New England," architecture, furniture, antique tools and old seaport villages. He and his wife tour historic buildings and antique shops throughout the country getting ideas for their own home.
