JEWELS

001 - The Jewels of the Nile belly dance troupe was founded in 1986 by Linda Erland, Madonna Rose, and Susan Harris. The troupe performs in the "old-style" of belly dance that developed in America in the 60's and 70's. In their dance routines, they borrow liberally from music, styles and techniques from throughout the middle east, Greece, and Armenia and sometimes, just for the fun of it, from contemporary American pop music. They dance for the camaraderie they experience within the belly dance community, and for the great pleasure they experience in sharing their love of the dance and music with audiences throughout California.
