Adv Bernard Ntuli

Job Titles:

Bernard is an Admitted Advocate of the High Court, and he holds an LLB degree from the University of Pretoria. He further holds a Certificate in Municipal Governance & Leadership from University of Witswatersrand. He also holds several qualifications in Local Government. He started his professional life as a Judges Clerk and Researcher for in the North Gauteng Division for a period of two years . He served his articles at the renowned law firm, Solomon Nicolson Attorneys between 2005 until 2007. Bernard has a considerable amount of experience in Local Government having served in that space for over a period of twelve years. He worked at Dipaleseng Local Municipality serving in various portfolios, namely Manager: Legal & Administration, Director: Corporate Services, Director: Planning & Economic Development. Whilst in the employ of the Municipality, he served at the IEC as a Municipal Electoral Officer for a period of twelve years, overseeing National & Provincial elections as well as Municipal elections . He joined Ironveld in September 2022 as the Group Compliance Manager.

Ampfarisaho Manyage

Ampfa holds a Master's degree in Business Administration and Metallurgical Engineering Diploma from the University of Johannesburg. He is also a qualified ISO systems (International Organisation for Standardisation) Auditor and Implementor with certificates from TUV (Middle East). He started his career in 2008 at EVRAZ-Highveld Steel and Vanadium as a Process Metallurgist rising to Senior Metallurgist and then Section Manager. In 2016 he joined Columbus Stainless Steel as a Team Manager in the technical department and in 2017 he joined Chromium Steel, Bahrain as a Senior Metallurgist/Quality Manager. Ampfa joined Ironveld in 2022 as a Metallurgist and is currently appointed as the company's Group Metallurgist with responsibilities that include technical support, process optimisation and product development.

Brian James

Brian James is currently UK Head of Finance and Company Secretary for Ironveld Plc. He is a Chartered Certified Accountant who has acted in senior financial roles for a number of public companies over the last 12 years, including Amerisur Resources where he was employed from 2011 to its sale in January 2020.

Dineo Kau

Job Titles:
  • Environmental Officer
Dineo holds a bachelor's degree in Environmental Management from University of Venda and pursued her career with University of Potchefstroom. She started her career in 2013 as Environmental Intern before being appointed as Environmental Officer with Platinum Group Metals at Maseve Mine in Rustenburg. She also worked as a Consultant for various mining and farming projects. Dineo joined Ironveld in 2022 as Environmentalist, ensuring the Group is fully compliant with current environmental legislation. She is passionate and committed about caring for the environment.

DR JOHN WARDLE - Chairman

John, whose first degree was in Mining Engineering followed by a PhD in Microseismic Geotechnics, was most recently CEO of Amerisur Resources Plc, the AIM-listed Oil & Gas company, from 2007 to 2020 when it was acquired for approximately £242 million. Prior to this John held roles with BP, Britoil, Emerald Energy and Pebercan.

Dr. PJ Cox - CTO

Dr Cox started his career in the mining industry 30 years ago as a learner surveyor. After studying mining engineering as a JCI bursar, he worked for that company in various positions at gold and platinum mines, ending as a senior section manager. In 1987, he joined a privately owned mining and exploration company, Severin Southern Sphere Mining, as consulting engineer and general manager. Since mid-1991 he has been the managing director of Goldline Global Consulting (Pty) Ltd, an engineering consulting company which serves the mining industry worldwide. He holds a Mine Surveyor's and a Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency. He has a number of achievements to his name, including being the youngest certificated surveyor in South African mining history and designing the country's narrow reef opencast mining method.

Fabian Fredericks

Fabian Fredericks is a qualified Geologist holding an Honours degree in Geology from the University of Pretoria. He holds an Advanced Project Management Programme (APM) Certificate from the Unisa Graduate School of Business Leadership (SBL) as well as a Strata Control Certificate from the Minerals Council of South Africa. Fabian is a full member of Geological Society of South Africa (MGSSA). Fabian started his geology career in 2011 with the MSA group where he gained a wealth of experience in both base and precious metals in the form of exploration and mining geology. Fabian was the Geologist responsible for the planning, geological logging, geological sampling and QAQC of all the exploration drilling on the Ironveld Project from September 2011 to June 2013. Fabian has since gained a multitude of experience in the different MTS departments (Geology, Rock Engineering, Mine Planning and Survey) in both open pit and underground mining environments. Fabian joined Ironveld in February 2023 and is appointed as MTS Manager.

Giles Clarke

Giles is Chairman of Westleigh Investments Holdings Limited, as well as Chairman of several private organisations. He founded Majestic Wine in 1981 and built it into a national chain of wine warehouses. He also co-founded Pet City in 1990, which he expanded nationwide before it was listed and subsequently sold in 1996 for £150 million, co-founded Safestore which was sold in 2003 for £44 million and was Chairman of Amerisur Resources plc, sold for £242 million in 2019. He was Chairman of the England and Wales Cricket Board from 2007-15 and a Director of the International Cricket Council from 2007-18.

MALEBO RATLHAGANE

Malebo is a certified professional accountant and a member of South African Institute of Professional Accountants (SAIPA).She holds a Btech in Cost and Management Accounting from Tshwane University of Technology. She started her career in financial administration at Africa Transparency.Malebo joined Ironveld in 2014 as an accountant and was appointed as Financial Manager late 2022 before joining the Board in June 2023.

Nethonzhe Mphaphathi

Nethonzhe holds a B. Tech Engineering (Mining), B.Tech Operations Management and post graduate Diploma Operations Management from the University of Johannesburg. He is also the holder of the Opencast blasting certificate. He started his career as a Learner miner at Canyon coal mine in Middelburg, then was promoted to be stockpile controller and acting Mine Manager . In 2019 he was appointed as Mine Manager at Matsopa Minerals. In 2020 he joined Glencore Coal SA as production supervisor and during his time there acted Production Superintendent. Nethonzhe joined Ironveld in December 2022 as Mine Manager.

Nick Harrison

Nick is a Chartered Accountant, having qualified with Arthur Andersen and subsequently held senior positions at Deloitte, Midland Bank (International) and Coopers and Lybrand. He has held board positions at a number of public and private companies with international activities. He was CFO of Pet City during a period of rapid growth prior to its sale for £150m and of Amerisur Resources plc in a similar period of expansion prior to its disposal for £242m. He is currently Chief Executive of Westleigh Investments. He brings considerable commercial, international and financial expertise to the Board.

Nokuzola Phetla

Nokuzola holds a National Diploma in Civil Engineering and an Advanced Diploma in Project Management. She possesses an expertise in monitoring projects' performance, resource coordination, planning aspects from execution to delivery and an aptitude to identify innovative and effective strategies to achieve results.

Tariro Chitapa

Prior to joining Ironveld in 2012, Tariro was employed as a marketing and public relations manager. At Ironveld Tariro's responsibilities include, in addition to Business Development, procurement, logistics and corporate social responsibility (CSR).
