I have been a trustee of the Community Foundation Wales since 2018 and became Chair of UKCF in October 2020.
I am Vice Lord-Lieutenant and a former High Sheriff of Gwent. I am a trustee of National Crimebeat and Chair of ScoutsCymru; as a former soldier, I also have active roles within Veterans' charities.
Having been Chief Executive of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association at Westminster for 13 years, where I engaged with all UK jurisdictions and Whitehall, I have a deep understanding of the spectrum of challenges faced by communities across the Commonwealth.
I have over 11 years of experience leading strategy and transformation engagements in the corporate and public sectors. My previous roles include working as a management consultant specialising in data analytics, digital product/services strategy, operating model, and implementing agile approaches to delivery.

I have a deep-rooted passion for civil society. I serve as a Magistrate on the North Essex bench and am Chair of Young Citizens, a national education charity that seeks to develop young people as active citizens in their communities.
I have held a range of senior public sector roles spanning democratic engagement, education, strategy, research and organisational change.
Most recently I was Managing Director, Participation at the UK Parliament where I led an ambitious strategy to increase the reach and impact of Parliament's public-facing work.
I am currently Vice Chair Norfolk Community Foundation and chair the Nourishing Norfolk Group. I came to Norfolk in 2002 to establish the Connexions Service as its Chief Executive, moving to the County Council to head up Economic Development and Strategy, and was subsequently appointed in April 2017 to the Strategy Director.
I have worked in the public sector overseeing strategy and change, customer services and stakeholder engagement. I was Director of Freedom of Information at the Information Commissioner's Office and Director of Strategy and Insight at the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman.
I am an advisor on brand, communications and marketing for tech, climate and social impact startups and non profits. I was Chief Marketing Officer for Ecosia, Germany's first B-Corp, for five years and scaled the organisation to 20 million users enabling the restoration of more than 100 million trees in +30 countries.

I have been working in the corporate responsibility sector for over ten years - both in the private and third sector.
I joined the UKCF Board in October 2020. I have been Chief Executive of Sussex Community Foundation since the charity was launched in 2006. I am deeply committed to the role of community foundations in providing a service to philanthropists and supporting the grassroots of local communities.

I became Vice Chair of the UKCF Board in October 2020. I am also Chief Executive of County Durham Community Foundation. Formerly an Investment Director at Northstar Ventures, I worked across a wide range of investment funds delivering social impact and capital return across the North East.

I joined the Board in June 2023. I am a qualified Chartered Accountant living in Sheffield. After 10 years with KPMG, I spent most of my executive career working in international advanced engineering businesses.
Since 'retiring', I have undertaken numerous non-executive and trustee roles, and have extensive experience in the charities sector. I currently chair Sheffield Museums Trust and St. Luke's Hospice in Sheffield. I am also a trustee of United Learning Trust and Sheffield Theatres.
