A family friend influenced her to become a dentist and she enjoys creating relationships with her patients.

Dr. Matthew Stephenson joined Abbeville in 2010. He grew up in Utah where he completed his undergraduate studies at Utah Valley University before attending Creighton University School of Dentistry in Omaha, Nebraska. Dr. Stephenson is a father of four and has been married for almost 10 years to a woman he says is much too good for him! He enjoys all aspects of dentistry, especially getting to know his patients and being able to constantly learn more.
Dr. Nandar Shar joined the Odessa, Big Spring and Midland offices in 2013 after treating patients of all ages in a busy private office in Dallas, Texas, for more than four years. She earned a Bachelor of Science in neuroscience from The University of Texas at Dallas in 2005 before graduating from The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston in 2009. Dr. Shar is a member of the Texas Dental Association, Southwest Dental Association and American Dental Association. A native of Plano, Texas, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and cooking.

Dr. Rebecca Son is originally from San Diego, California. She received her Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from the University of California San Diego before attending dental school at Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry.

Dr. Yafet Zemmedhun is originally from Addis Abeba, Ethiopia and Dallas, Texas. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Arlington where he majored in biology and minored in biochemistry. Dr. Zemmedhun went on to complete his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the Texas A&M School of Dentistry.
As someone who did not have access to dental care growing up and only went to the dentist for emergencies, Dr. Zemmedhun has a lot of empathy and understanding for patients. He wants to restore their confidence and improve their quality of life by ensuring they get the best oral health care. He was influenced by a general dentist and an orthodontist who allowed him to shadow in their practices and volunteered at dental clinics throughout the community while obtaining his undergraduate degree.
Dr. Zemmedhun enjoys hiking, reading books, listening to podcasts, and eating Ethiopian and Thai food.
