Dr. Mark Wochner - CEO

Dr. Mark Wochner has a PhD in Acoustics from Penn State University and has been working in acoustics for 20 years, covering topics including nonlinear acoustics, underwater acoustics, biophysics, jet noise propagation, and numerical methods. Dr. Mark Wochner has a PhD in Acoustics from Penn State University and has been working in acoustics for 18 years, covering topics including nonlinear acoustics, underwater acoustics, biophysics, jet noise propagation, and numerical methods. He has served on various committees and working groups for the scientific organizations such as the Acoustical Society of America, and has organized and chaired sessions at national and international scientific conferences. Previously he founded the Black Star Co-op, a brewpub based in Austin, TX. He is one of the co-inventors of the AdBm noise abatement system and also founded AdBm Technologies.

J.R. Garcia

Mr. Garcia joined Green Park & Golf Ventures in June 2011. As a Principal of the firm, he is responsible for sourcing and evaluating startup and early-stage investments in the healthcare and technology sectors, performing due diligence, and portfolio company and fund management.

John J. Paulos

Now an independent consultant and Angel investor, John J. Paulos serves as a Director for six start-up companies in Austin, Texas. Dr. Paulos left Cirrus Logic in August of 2008 after serving as Vice President and General Manager of the Industrial Products Division after rejoining the company in 2004. There, he was responsible for application specific and general purpose precision ADC's, ARM-based microcontrollers, and legacy communications products. Also, during his tenure as VP/GM, Dr. Paulos championed the acquisition of Apex Microtechnology, a provider of precision power solutions, and took principle responsibility for integration of Apex into the Industrial Products Division, bringing annual revenue to over $100M. Prior to rejoining Cirrus Logic, Dr. Paulos served as Vice President of Engineering for Cicada Semiconductor, where he was responsible for the development of GigaBit Ethernet and T3 transceivers. Introduced in 2002, the Cicada line of single and quad GigaBit Ethernet Phys set industry standards for system performance and power dissipation, leading to the acquisition of Cicada by Vitesse in early 2004. Dr. Paulos first joined Cirrus Logic through its Crystal Semiconductor subsidiary in 1993 as Design Manager for professional and consumer audio converter products. In 1996, he became Vice President and Business Unit Director for Consumer Audio. In 1998, he became Vice President and co-General Manager of the Audio business unit, which combined PC and consumer audio products into a single business unit with revenue in excess of $200M. Paulos holds B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1980, 1980, and 1984, respectively. He joined the faculty of North Carolina State University in 1984 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and was promoted to Associate Professor in 1990. His research program focused on analog integrated circuits, neural networks and MOS device modeling.

Kevin Lee - Founder

Kevin Lee is a co-founder of AdBm and a co-inventor of AdBm's underwater noise abatement technology. Kevin has been a key leader in the development, implementation, testing and analysis of prototype noise abatement systems based on encapsulated bubbles and related technologies at the University since 2009. Kevin has over 15 years experience in basic scientific and applied research in disciplines of physics ranging from fields in underwater acoustics to plasma turbulence. He currently holds a Research Associate position at Applied Research Laboratories, where he pursues research primarily on the acoustics of bubbly liquids to address not only the potential needs of industry and the federal government in the marine environment, but also to provide answers to fundamental questions in physical acoustics. Kevin holds a PhD in physics from the University of Texas for his work at the Institute for Fusion Studies, previously the Fusion Research Center, where he performed basic research on turbulence characterization and suppression in low-temperature magnetized plasmas.

Preston Wilson

Preston Wilson is co-inventor of AdBm's underwater noise abatement technology and a co-founder of the company. Wilson received the PhD degree in mechanical engineering from Boston University in 2003 and since that time has been a professor of mechanical engineering at The University of Texas at Austin and a research professor at UT's Applied Research Laboratories. Wilson is an expert on the acoustics of bubbly liquids and ocean acoustics and has conducted basic research on these topics for the U.S. Navy's Office of Naval Research for more than a decade. Wilson was principal investigator on the initial research grants that sowed the seeds of AdBm. Wilson serves as Science Advisor for AdBm and contributes to all aspects of the company's technology.

Rina Hartline is an experienced attorney, government affairs, regulatory and communications professional, and is a leading advocate for professional women in the energy industry. This diversity of interdisciplinary skills has been honed from leadership roles in a variety of executive positions. Rina is the founder and former Chair of the Board of the Association of Women in Energy, an organization focused on building the pipeline of women from the student's to the CEO's desk.
