Amanda joined Amnesty International Aotearoa in 2020 and has over 20 years of experience in Finance. Amanda is focused on creating an efficient finance function that supports the vital Human Rights mahi.

Amy Thomson

Amy has been an Amnesty International activist for over 15 years. She is an experienced policy professional helping to solve wicked economic, social and environmental problems. Amy is currently a Principal Policy Advisor at Hīkina Whakatutuki, the Ministry for Business, Innovation and Employment.

Bonar Bell

For nearly 20 years, Bonar has been working with International NGOs focused on improving the lives of people everywhere. He is passionate about impact and focused on finding creative ways to engage and inspire people to take action.

Charlie Matthews

Job Titles:

Charlie is studying Law and Economics at the University of Auckland with modules in Chinese. He is passionate about youth engagement and is excited to implement what he has learned to further Amnesty International's human rights mahi.

Chennoah Walford

Chennoah is a campaigner and community organiser with experience in Aotearoa and Australia. Chennoah has been an active member of Amnesty International for 15 years, joining at the age of 13.

Gill Greer

Gill Greer has been an advocate in a range of settings, including the United Nations, European, Pacific and New Zealand Parliamentary groups, the Assembly of the African Union, and many other international, regional, national and community organisations.

Gregory McNeil

Gregory is a construction and infrastructure professional with experience in Aotearoa and the UK. He holds an executive MBA from the University of Auckland Business school and is currently the Manager of National infrastructure strategy at Kainga Ora - home and communities.

Heather Hayden - Chairman

Heather is the Chair of the Board and brings fantastic governance experience to the organisation. She has held a number of governance roles in the community sector. One of Heather's highlights has been serving as Deputy Chair of the Council for International Development.

Nirupa George

Nirupa is currently the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at SkyCity Entertainment Group. Prior to this, she was the Chief of Staff to the Mayor of Auckland. She started her career as a refugee lawyer in Auckland.

Shaun's whakapapa is Ngāpuhi. He is a humanitarian driven by work that makes a tangible difference for the wellbeing of people and communities. He is passionate about human rights, advocacy, equity, diversity & inclusion.
