OSHA estimates there are approximately 350 electrical fatalities a year. to NFPA estimates there are 4,000 non-disabling and 3,600 disabling electrical contact injuries in the workplace annually. National Safety Council estimates 30,000 non-fatal electrical shocks each year & 17, 101 injuries caused by arc flash burns... Many businesses and workers have not yet fully recognized the hazards associated with arc flash and arc blasts. Training in arc flash/blast protection is a relatively new topic that has not been addressed in many of the employer programs, so the hazards are often not addressed.
