BESTEC - Key Persons
Dr. Julia Scheiber is a mineralogist who has been working for the company since January 2017. She advices the team as an expert in geochemical matters.
Dr. Nicolas Cuenot is a geophysicist with long-standing experience in seismology and microseismic monitoring. He joined our company in June 2021.
For 12 years Dr. Cuenot was in charge of microseismic monitoring as well as general environmental monitoring including radiation protection at the Soultz-sous-Forêts geothermal plant in France. In 2007 he joined ES-Géothermie SAS as environmental engineer. In this position he participated to the operation of the geothermal power plants of Soultz-sous-Forêts and Rittershoffen in France.
Gitta Wahl is a geologist and has been working for the company since 2008. Apart from playing an active role in the geothermal energy project in Insheim, in the past, she has also participated in similar projects in Bad Urach und in Soultz-sous-Forêts.
Jean-Luc Riff worked for the European HDR research project in Soultz-sous-Forêts and has been supporting the BESTEC team since 2007.
Jens Müller has been on the BESTEC team since December of 2009 and supports the company in all matters pertaining to structural engineering and legal requirements.
Marion Schindler is a geophysicist who has been working for the company since January of 2009. She has been actively involved in geothermal energy projects in both Insheim and Soultz-sous-Forêts.

Terry is an ambitious Drilling Manager and Supervisor with over 30 years of experience in both oil & gas as well as geothermal drilling.
After drilling hundreds of wells for the oil & gas industry in the US, he specialized in drilling crystalline rock as drilling supervisor on the Vattenfall Deep Gas Project in Sweden by drilling two 23.000 ft wells completely in granite.
His addiction to geothermal started within the HDR-Soultz Hot Dry Rock Program in Soultz-sous-Forêts, France where he acted as Drilling Manager and Supervisor. Today, Terry operates his own companies Gandy, Inc. in the US and BESTEC Drilling GmbH in Germany. He has successfully drilled the geothermal wells in Landau, Germany feeding the geothermal power plant, and recently also drilled the geothermal wells in Insheim, Germany.
