Georgia is an offspring member and has been part of the Canteen whānau since she was 12 years old, firstly with Canteen Australia before moving to Aotearoa in 2021. Georgia is part of the North Hub Leadership Group and is currently studying at Waikato University.

Hirini is a patient member and joined the board in 2021. Hirini graduated from Canterbury University with a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Economics. He is currently working at the Department of Internal Affairs.

Karyn Arkell - Founder, Managing Director

Karyn is the Founder and Managing Director of boutique communications agency Grace. Karyn will be bringing more than 20 years of agency and PR industry experience to her role on the board.

Chair of the Finance Committee: Matt has a personal connection to the space and his audit clients include several not-for-profits. He also has broad governance experience. Matt provides a very safe set of hands for finance and is an innovative thinker.

Nick has a background in social work and has held leadership roles within the health sector for more than 20 years. Nick has been leading the organisation since 2019.

Priya is a patient member and joined the board in 2022. Born and raised in Aotearoa, Priya is currently based in Auckland and pursuing a design degree. She wanted to join the board to share her voice, insights, and to spread awareness.

Sharon is the Director of Clinical Quality Governance, Risk and Compliance at Te Whatu Ora, Lakes and has strong demonstrated experience working in the hospital & healthcare industry, with skills in strategy and business planning. Sharon is recognised as a Specialist Physician by the Medical Council of New Zealand.

Teri is a patient member and has been with Canteen Aotearoa since 2017. Teri is part of the South Hub Leadership Team, as well as our Te ao Māori Advisory Group. She is currently working towards completing her Master of Psychology at the University of Otago.
