Caroline Grinnell joined the Community Foundation as Director of Development in April 2023. Caroline has over two decades of experience in the nonprofit sector, with a focus on nonprofit fundraising, event planning and program management. Her passion is advocating for social and criminal justice reform and being a voice for underrepresented communities. Caroline received her Bachelors of Social Work from the University of North Texas. She moved from Texas to Colorado in 2007 and resides in Longmont with her husband, daughter, and animals. When she's not working you can find her on the trails, drumming, or seeing live music.

Hannah Rosenblume joined the Community Foundation as Office Manager and Executive Assistant in April 2020 and was promoted to Executive Coordinator in March 2022. As Executive Coordinator, she supports Tatiana as her assistant, acts as the board of trustees' liaison, and works closely with the Boulder County Wildfire Fund advisory committee. A music teacher by training, Hannah started her career as the music teacher at Unity East Elementary in Philo, IL and McGlone Academy in Denver, CO. After making the decision to leave teaching, she completed an event internship at Greenhouse Scholars, serving as volunteer coordinator for Venus de Miles, a women's cycling ride in Boulder County. Heather Lee joined the Community Foundation as the Data and Grants Administrator in June 2023. Heather's career has centered around utilizing software automation to help educational institutions and nonprofits improve services for constituents. Most recently, Heather led the data quality and reporting compliance initiatives for the Denver office of the International Rescue Committee and the state of Colorado Refugee Services Program. In previous roles, she used her data skills as an administrator and a consultant to streamline processes and improve workflows for K-12 schools, nonprofits, and higher educational institutions. Heather began her career in fundraising working with donor events, annual fund appeals, and capital campaign planning. Heather earned an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a master's degree in Higher Education Administration from Indiana University. A twenty year resident of Boulder County, she has served as volunteer and advocate for a range of nonprofits and educational institutions.

Helen Gemmill has devoted her professional life to managing complex projects and teams at the intersection of philanthropy, investing and social change. Among other roles, Helen has served as Chair of the Community Foundation Serving Boulder County (where she also chaired the Early Childhood Education Committee from 2008-2016, and Co-Chaired the Search Committee for its CEO in 2016), the Chair of the Women Donors Network, worked as the founding Director of Individual Giving at Global Greengrants Fund, worked as the national Development Chair for the White House Project, and as trustee of her family's charitable foundation from 1998 until it completed a planned sunset in 2011. She currently serves as Chair of the Board of Conservation Colorado. Helen earned her B.A. in International Studies with a specialization in French Literature from Middlebury College, her M.A. from Naropa University in Environmental Leadership, and a second M.A. from the University of Denver in International Studies with a specialization in International Water Scarcity. In 2011, she was inducted into Boulder County Business Report's "Forty Under 40" list of emerging leaders. The award recognized her as, "a combination of strategic thinker, policy developer and hands on community worker…She is considered by her peers as diplomatic, visionary, focused and generous."

Katie is the Media Specialist at Heatherwood Elementary School in the Boulder Valley School District. Issues of equity in education have been a passion for her during the years she has spent in elementary, middle, and high school classrooms throughout Boulder County, including Longmont, Boulder, Erie, Gunbarrel, and Nederland. Katie earned a bachelor's degree in American Literature and a master's degree in English, both from Middlebury College, Vermont. She later completed her teacher licensure at CU-Boulder. Katie and her husband, John, have been actively involved with the Community Foundation and donors to the School Readiness Fund and Salute Colorado, as well as early contributors to A Queer Endeavor and the ELPASO Movement. They live in North Boulder with their three children.

Ken Long - CFO, COO

Ken Long has amassed over twenty years of progressive accounting and finance experience with an emphasis in non-profit management. During this time, his leadership roles have been extensive with roles at public foundations, a private foundation, and in higher education. These different roles and experiences helped him build a better understanding of the philanthropic landscape and how all the different organizations in a community can do better together. Ultimately, this has all led to a career in philanthropy. Most recently, Ken served as the Chief Financial and Operations Officer for the Frey Foundation where he provided financial leadership and supported efforts that positively impact West Michigan communities. Before this role, Ken provided leadership at Muskegon Community College (MCC) where he served as the Vice President of Finance and Chief Advancement Officer. He was responsible for recommending financial strategy and managing the financial operations of an approximately $50 million budget. In addition, he provided strategic leadership to the Foundation for MCC in efforts to support the college through fund development. Prior to his most recent roles in Michigan, Ken and his family lived in sunny Colorado where he held positions as the Director of Finance and Administration with Western Colorado Community Foundation and Controller with the Vail Valley Foundation. He even served three years as the head cross country and track coach at his community's high school. Ken earned a Master of Business Administration from Western Michigan University and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Central Michigan University. He was the first member of his family to earn a four-year degree. An outdoors enthusiast: he enjoys mountaineering, mountain biking, snowboarding, and running ultramarathons among many other activities. Ken enjoys spending time with his family - his wife, Heather, their son, Connor, and their family dog, Macy.

Kevin Vasquez joined the Community Foundation as Director of Development in April 2023. Kevin has been connected to the non-profit community professionally and personally for over 30 years. Most of his development work has been focused on higher education and on environmental platforms ranging from conversation/protection to education and renewable technologies. Kevin proudly represents the state of Colorado as a 5th generation native and loves the outdoors spending his free time skiing, snowboarding, mountaineering, backpacking, camping, fishing, mountain biking and trail running. In this role, she nurtures the community foundation's Leadership Fellows, 15 Forever, and the Community Trust grant-making programs. With over a decade of nonprofit expertise, Sydney has dedicated her career to youth development, community engagement, and grant management. She earned her master's degree from the University of Denver and is a licensed Social Worker. Prior to joining us, she facilitated YouthRoots Youthboards and managed the $3 million grants portfolio for the Western Union Foundation. Sydney is avidly committed to fostering equitable practices in philanthropy and the grant-making process to ensure that the most impacted play a critical role in the process. She made the move to sunny Colorado in 2016 and hasn't looked back since. In the summertime, you'll catch her savoring the perfect Palisades peach or paddleboarding with her loyal companion, Mr. Rufus.

Tatiana Hernandez - CEO

Tatiana Hernandez joined the Community Foundation Boulder County as CEO in July 2020. During her tenure, the foundation has led numerous disaster-related philanthropic efforts including responses to COVID, a mass shooting and multiple fires. The foundation is currently responsible for the largest philanthropic response to a natural disaster in Colorado history. Prior to joining the foundation, Tatiana served as President of the Emily Griffith Foundation and was a Senior Program Officer at the Kresge Foundation. In Boulder, Tatiana served as Arts Director for the Hemera Foundation where - in partnership with the Bonfils-Stanton Foundation and Colorado Creative Industries - she developed Arts in Society, Colorado's largest private-public funding program for the arts. Tatiana began her philanthropic career at the Knight Foundation, where she led the Knight Arts Challenge, supporting artists and arts organizations in eight cities. She oversaw a portfolio of more than $100M in investments and distributed $10M annually.
