Carrie co-founded Edinburgh Translators with Dimitris in 2012. Carrie is a law graduate who worked in finance and public policy before making the career change to translator. She holds an MSc (with distinction) in Translation and CAT Tools (Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, UK) an LLB (Hons) in Law and Belgian Law (University of Aberdeen School of Law). She is an Associate of the UK Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI). Carrie has extensive experience translating legal and financial documents as well as engineering and manufacturing materials. Since 2017 she has been an internally qualified translator for the helicopter division of a large European multinational aerospace corporation. Dimitris is the co-founder of Edinburgh Translators. He has been working as professional medical and technical Greek translator since 2005 and has collaborated with major companies and organisations in the medical, pharmaceutical and IT fields. Dimitris holds an MSc (with distinction) in Translation and CAT Tools (Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, UK) and a Diploma in Translation. He is SDL Trados Certified (Advanced Level), a Member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (MCIL), an Associate Member of the American Translators Association (ATA) - Medical Division, and was an Official translator of the Greek National Organization for Medicines (2017-2018). Karoline has been working as freelance translator since 2008. She holds an MA in Translation Studies from the University of Mainz/Germersheim, Germany and an MSc (with distinction) in Translation and Conference Interpreting (Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, UK) Karoline was a Senior SEO Account Manager with Edinburgh-based bigmouthmedia/LBi for and is an expert in all things digital and online marketing: SEO, multilingual research, social media, website localisation and more. She also specialises in medical/pharmaceutical texts, user manuals, sports, communications, agriculture (livestock and machinery) and tourism. Karoline is an Associate of the UK Institute of Translation and Interpreting and translates for non-profit organisation Translators Without Borders.
