EUROPEAN MICROSCOPIC COLITIS GROUP

Microscopic colitis (MC) is an inflammatory bowel disease and a common cause of chronic, non-bloody diarrhea. The diagnosis rests on specific histological findings in colonic biopsies demonstrating the main subtypes; lymphocytic colitis (LC) or collagenous colitis (CC). Our knowledge about MC is still limited and more research is needed to further investigate the etiology and pathophysiology of MC and to improve the clinical care for these patients.
