Bruno Le Maire (1969) holds the position of Minister for the Economy in Edouard Philippe's government under Emmanuel Macron's presidency. He began his career as Foreign Affairs Adviser at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 2002, he became Strategic Affairs Adviser to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, followed by Adviser to the Minister of the Interior in 2004. In 2005, he joined Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin, first as an adviser and then as his Chief of Staff from 2006 to 2007. In June 2007, he was elected as MP for the first constituency of the Eure département. In December 2008, he was named Minister of State for European Affairs in François Fillon's government before being appointed Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries in June 2009. He held the latter position until May 2012. In 2012, he was re-elected as MP. In November 2014, he was candidate for the presidency of the UMP party and took part in the centre-right primary for the French presidential election in November 2016.

Fernando Medina

Fernando Medina is an economist, with a degree from the Porto School of Economics and a master's degree in Economic Sociology from the University of Lisbon's Institute of Economics and Management. He was Mayor of Lisbon (2015-2021), Deputy Mayor in charge of Finance (2013-2015) and President of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area (2017-2021). Before that, he was a member of the Portuguese Parliament also taking seat on the Budget and Finance Committee and the Committee to Monitor the Economic and Financial Assistance Programme. Between 2005 and 2011, he served in the Portuguese Government, first as Secretary of State for Employment and Vocational Training for the Ministry of Labour and Social Solidarity (2005-2009) and, thereafter, as Secretary of State for Industry and Development for the Ministry of Economy (2009-2011). He was also Advisor for Education and for Economic Affairs for Prime Minister António Guterres.

Märten Ross

Märten Ross was appointed Deputy Secretary General for Financial Policy and External Relations on 7 October 2013. Mr Ross has had a distinguished career in finance - before joining the Ministry, he served as the Deputy Governor and member of the Monetary Policy Committee at the Central Bank of Estonia for over a decade (2000-2011). He also held the position of adviser at the Central Bank of Finland (2011-2013). As the Deputy Governor in the early 2000s Mr Ross was also involved in the process of preparing Estonia for joining the Eurosystem and the euro. As noted, Mr Ross is a long-standing member of the Economic and Financial Committee (EFC), acting as the representative of Estonia in 2004-2011 as well as being the current Estonian member. Mr Ross graduated with a B.Sc. in economics from the Tallinn University of Technology, and a M.Sc. in banking and finance from the University of Stockholm.

Nima Ahmadzadeh

Before joining the Ministry of Finance in 2012, Nima Ahmadzadeh worked in investment banking in London, Zurich and Luxembourg. Peter Paluš

Prior to his current post, from February 2012 until April 2015, Mr Paluš served as a Financial Services Attaché at the Permanent Representation of the Slovak Republic to the European Union. Mr Paluš acquired extensive experience in financial sector issues having worked as Chief Supervisor and Principal Regulatory Expert at the Central Bank of Slovakia from 2006 until 2012. Mr Paluš studied in the Johannes Kepler University in Austria and holds a Master's degree in Investment, Banking & Finance from the University of Economics in Bratislava.
