Beth Ossino is the Claims Manager for Delta Adjusting Company. Delta adjusts claims for Golden Bear Insurance Company. She began her insurance claims career with Farmers Insurance and Truck Insurance Exchange in 1987 where she worked as a Senior Claims Representative. Beth served as president of the Mid Valley Claims Association, and is affiliated with the Northern California Fraud Investigators and the International Association of Special Investigation Units. She holds a bachelor's degree in Finance from San Francisco State University and an Associate in Claims degree from the Insurance Institute of America. She has been a featured speaker at various seminars and conferences on the topics of emerging insurance risks, insurance fraud, and construction defect litigation.

Connie Vargas-George

Connie Vargas-George joined Golden Bear Insurance Company in 2014 as an Underwriting Specialist in the Excess Department. Connie was promoted to Excess Department Manager in January 2016. Prior to joining Golden Bear, Connie worked as an Underwriting Specialist in primary casualty at Liberty International Underwriters. Connie also worked at Crum & Forster as a Sr. Underwriter and later as the Underwriting Supervisor. Prior to Crum & Forster she was at Interstate Insurance Services, Inc. where she handled surplus lines and was an underwriter for primary casualty, auto and umbrella, as well as professional liability for nursing homes and assisted living facilities. She began her career at Transamerica Insurance Company as a Multi-Line Underwriter Trainee. Connie Vargas-George earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance from the University of San Francisco.

Kim Moody

Kim Moody is an experienced claims leader with 20 years of insurance and legal experience, with a focus on catastrophic property and casualty claims. Areas of expertise includes excess and umbrella general liability, labor law, commercial auto/ trucking, gas and oil, products, multinational claims, trial monitoring, managing outside counsel and building teams of result-orientated claims adjusters. Currently, Kim is Vice President of Claims. Prior to joining Golden Bear, Kim was Head of Complex P&C Claims at AXIS Insurance Company where she provided oversight on the highest exposure claims and severity trials. Kim also was a Vice President of Excess Claims at ACE/Chubb Insurance Company where she handled complex severity claims. Kim's insurance career started with AIG where she handled environmental claims. Kim began her career as an Assistant District Attorney in Brooklyn, New York and then transitioned to a civil trial attorney, focusing on insurance defense and insurance fraud.

Michael Brown

Michael Brown joined Golden Bear Insurance Company in 2002 and is responsible for underwriting property and DIC / earthquake business. In 2013 Michael became the manager of the commercial property underwriting department, and in 2015 he was promoted to vice president. Michael holds a number of industry certifications and designations, some of which include: Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) Certified Catastrophe Risk Analyst (CCRA) Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) Associate in Surplus Lines Insurance (ASLI) Associate in Enterprise-wide Risk Management (ARM-E) Michael has written articles related to property catastrophe insurance for Risk Management magazine and WIN magazine, has been interviewed for articles in Insurance Business, Rough Notes, and Insurance Journal, and was named a 2016 Risk Management All-Star by Risk and Insurance magazine.

Roxanne Westfall

Ms. Westfall joined Golden Bear Insurance Company in January 2016 to develop and manage the Professional Liability Department. She brings 25 years of underwriting, management and cutting-edge product development experience working for A+ rated market leaders in cyber/technology, first party privacy, miscellaneous professional, multi-media, film and entertainment, lawyers, allied/medical malpractice, architect and engineers and agents E&O. Ms. Westfall's underwriting management roles have included Vice President, Atlanta Branch Manager for Endurance U.S. Insurance Operations-Wholesale Professional Lines; Vice President and Cyber Technology Product Development, RSUI; Vice President, Western States Regional Underwriting Manager; AXIS Capital Insurance; and Vice President, Regional Underwriting Manager, Northeastern and Western States and Cyber Technology Product Manager for Media Professional Insurance. Her early career was with the Ohio Department of Insurance in the Property and Casualty Investigative Division and was also the Acting Insurance Warden. She has been a guest speaker and panel member for regional and national brokerage meetings and the International PLUS Convention. Ms. Westfall graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications.

Tom Jurgens

Tom Jurgens joined the company June 2023 in the role of Senior Vice President - Casualty. In this position he leads the strategic and operational functions for primary and excess casualty underwriting at Golden Bear. He brings 40 years of industry experience and underwriting expertise to this newly created role. Tom held several leadership and executive positions in his 28 years with Nationwide including his most recent role as senior vice president of brokerage and P&C programs for Nationwide E&S. Prior positions included chief underwriting officer for Nationwide Agribusiness and regional contract binding director for Scottsdale Insurance. He holds a Bachelors degree in Insurance from the University of Northern Colorado and an ASLI designation.
