Dr. Kimberly Shao, MD is a board-certified dermatologist and Mohs micrographic surgeon. Dr. Shao grew up on Long Island. She graduated with an honor's bachelor's degree in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology from the University of Delaware with a 4.0 GPA. She then went on to medical school at the University of Pennsylvania, where she did an additional research year in Mohs surgery. She completed her internship in Denver, Colorado. Afterwards, she trained for 3 years at the University of Connecticut in general dermatology, pediatric dermatology, dermatopathology, and dermatologic/cosmetic surgery under leaders in dermoscopy and clinical research. She then completed an additional fellowship in Mohs surgery and dermatologic oncology at a top program under her mentor Dr. Heidi Donnelly. Since then, she has completed over 1500 cases acting as both the pathologist and reconstructive surgeon, ranging from simple linear closures to complex flaps and grafts.
Dr. Shao has published multiple research articles in our specialty's top journals, and she has presented both nationally and internationally at recognized dermatology conferences. Dr. Shao has a special interest in patient education and dispelling skincare myths. She has a social media account on Instagram: @dr.skinshao that has grown to over 7,000 followers in less than 2 years and which is dedicated to educating the public on science-backed skincare recommendations. Additionally, Dr. Shao volunteers her time to mentor students who are interested in applying to medical school/dermatology residency.
When she is not taking care of patients, you can find her hiking, skiing, at yoga, or getting ice cream with her partner Lawrence. Dr. Shao is excited to serve the patients of Goldman Dermatology!
Marianne Pistilli, PA-C is a physician assistant with over 21 years of experience in cosmetic and medical dermatology. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.
Marianne has extensive experience performing cosmetic laser procedures, including scar resurfacing, skin rejuvenation, micro laser peels, vein treatments for face and body, dark spot correction and laser hair removal. She also specializes in all injectable treatments. In addition, Marianne has many years of experience conducting medical skin procedures for her patients, including skin cancer screenings, biopsies, evaluation and treatment of rashes, acne, rosacea, psoriasis and other conditions.
Marianne graduated in 2003 from Weill Cornell Medical College. She also holds an MBA from New York University and a BS in Accounting from St. John's University. Marianne is an instructor in dermatology at the Physician Assistant program at Weill Cornell Medical College.
