A self-confessed lighting nerd, Andrew's career in the industry began over 20 years ago in South Africa, journeyed through the UK and in 2010 brought him to Australia with a wealth of international experience. He has completed his studies in exterior lighting and has a Senior Executive MBA from Melbourne Business School. He is an inspired leader with a clear vision and strong focus on strategy, collaboration, motivation and empowerment.

Dhruva Jyoti (DJ) Ghose - VP

Job Titles:

DJ brings a unique understanding of the architectural potential of light to his practice, and a natural sympathy for the role of the architect, helping to predict and enhance the interplay between light and form. He works closely with architects and designers to ensure that their vision for every project is faithfully realised. DJ now directs the majority of the company's projects and ensures that clients receive best practice lighting solutions regardless of where in the world their projects are based.

George started his career in Lighting in 1976 as a Sales Clerk at Osram-GEC in Hobart, following a move to Sydney in 1982 he worked in the Electrical Industry and returned to lighting in 1989 with Stanilite Electronics, he moved to Adelaide with Stanilite in the role of State Manager SA/NT in 1996 He started with Moonlighting in the role of State Manager in 1999. He has worked with Dialight as the Regional Sales Manager for South Australia/Northern Territory since 2012. He joined the IES in 1999 and have participated on the SA Chapter Committee in different roles until now. He is also a Committee Member for CIBSE (Charted Institute of Building Services Engineers)

Greg Williams MIES

Greg, in his day job, is a Technical Director/Principal at Beca Ltd. He has been involved in lighting design of various types since about 1991, mostly in the road lighting arena, and also has experience in the design of interior and exterior lighting, emergency lighting and sports field lighting. He is an electrical engineer by training, having gained an NZCE(Electrical) in 1991, BE(Electrical) in 1995, and GDipBus(Eng Mgt) in 1997. Having worked under the tutelage of Geoff Waller since he joined Beca in 1999 and Laurie Cook since 2011, Greg finally gained an MIES in 2015. Greg joined the IESANZ (this time around) in 2013 to assist the Society in NZ to rejuvenate itself. He has worked on the NZ Chapter management committee since this time, and was voted NZ Chapter president in 2014, and IESANZ Board member in 2017. Greg has also contributed to the Constitution and Bylaws committee since 2016. He is passionate not just about the amazing artistry and magic that our lighting designers, suppliers can generate, but also the incredibly talented people in the industry that make it what it is. Greg currently holds the Membership portfolio within the Board, and is excited about encouraging professional behaviour from members within the Society with which to nurture and grow our membership and enhance the recognition that we all deserve from our fellow design organisations and statutory bodies.

Overseeing diverse projects worldwide, Lucka is recognized for creative thinking and an inclination to push beyond conventional boundaries. As a light artist, she has left her mark on numerous captivating light art sculptures, infusing each project with a distinctive artistic perspective.

Stephen Collard - Treasurer

Stephen is currently the Product Manager Emergency Lighting for ESC in New Zealand (ABB Channel Partner), and has been in the industry for 20+ years, holding positions in design, supply and wholesale sectors of the industry. Having formalised his experience in the industry with a Grad Cert S&T (Lighting) from Massey University in 2017, Stephen now provides emergency lighting solutions to engineers and the wider industry for all types of commercial and industrial sites. Joining the IES in 2015, Stephen has been a chapter committee member in NZ for 4 years holding positions of Vice President NZ Chapter and Treasurer NZ Chapter (current) so he brings a wealth of knowledge in both business and IES matters. Stephen's desire is to help the Society grow even further by making it relevant to all sectors of our industry from government (regulatory), engineering (design), supply (importing and wholesaling) to contracting. "We have much to offer as a society of experienced industry professionals to all who work in the lighting field. The IES should be the first industry body lighting practitioners will want to join when entering our industry"

Tiina Ratamo

Tiina Ratamo has over 25 years experience in resources, industrial, commercial, government and infrastructure sector projects from concept through to design and construction. As the Chief Engineer for KBR Infrastructure Solutions Australia, Tiina provides leadership and direction to the business to develop and maintain the technical capabilities and processes. She also manages technical assurance functions required within the business, including Digital Delivery, Quality, Document & Information Management. During her career Tiina has worked on a wide range of projects and has acquired considerable expertise in providing practical integrated solutions in various electrical fields including transport, industrial and building services spanning electrical, communications, lighting, fire detection and security. Her lighting career started in Queensland, working on major hotel and resort projects with international lighting design teams. This led her to complete Certificate of Illumination, and she has continued to work on various lighting projects over her career ranging from front of house lighting in hotels to offices, warehouses, external decorative lighting installations, road lighting, and lighting in industrial and manufacturing facilities. She joined IES in 1990 and served as WA chapter President (2020-2023), Membership secretary (1995-1998), and Lighting Awards judging panel member on several years.
