Bianca Gregory

Bianca graduated in Animal Health from Collège Lionel-Groulx in the spring of 2011. She joined our team in May 2010. She received her certification in winter 2022. She assists veterinarians during surgeries or consultations, she welcomes clients and provides animal care. Bianca is also a certified "Fear Free" professional, an approach that promotes the physical and emotional well-being of animals. In addition, Bianca completed her certification in December 2022 and is now a certified veterinary technician.

Brittany Elder

Brittany is origianally from Hinchinbrooke and now lives in Godmanchester with her husband and 2 children. She received her Associate Agriculture diploma from the University of Guelph in 2010. She also has a certificate in animal care and is a certified western riding instructor. In February of 2017, she completed a certification as a Canine massage therapist. Brittany always wanted to work with animals! She worked in a mixed animal practice as a veterinary assistant for 4 years before taking some time off for maternity leave. She joined our team in April 2017 where she works as an assistant technician. She is hoping to one day be able to offer the canine massage therapy service at HVO. In the mean time, her experience and gentle touch help the patients feel relaxed and comfortable! Her favourite place to be is at home with her family, and her animals. Since 2019, Brittany is a certified professional in « Fear Free » Elite Status, an approach that promotes the physical and emotional well-being of animals.

Dawn Elliott

Dawn Elliott has worked at the Ormstown Veterinary Hospital since June 2005. Her responsibilities are concentrated on the Large Animal Sector and Administrative duties for the Hospital. Dawn is also responsible for customer service and is always available to clients. Prior to taking up a position at the Ormstown Veterinary Hospital, she was the General Manager of the Ormstown Exhibition for 15 years, where she came in contact with numerous HVO clients. She resides on a 100-cow free-stall dairy farm in Howick where she "volunteers" her time every day.

Dr Bradley Bohemen

Dr Bradley Bohemen was born and raised in Ormstown. He grew up on the family farm where he developed an interest in agriculture, particularly in dairy cattle health management. Prior to his admission to veterinary school, he completed a bachelors degree in agronomy at the Macdonald College in 2014. Dr Bohemen then graduated from the Veterinary Faculty in St-Hyacinthe in 2019. He is now part of the large animal team at the Ormstown Veterinary Hospital. His main fields of work are bovine medicine and surgery with an approach focused on optimising herd health and profitability.

Dr Dominique Ducharme

Dr Dominique Ducharme received her doctorate in veterinary medicine from the University of Montreal in 1986. She completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the University of Guelph in 1987 and a microprogram of the second cycle in small animal medicine in 2010. Dr. Ducharme has practiced in several veterinary clinics in Laval and in the Lower Laurentian region. She recently moved to the Montérégie area and joined the Ormstown Veterinary Hospital team in May of 2018.

Dr Jean-François Brunelle

Dr. Jean-François Brunelle was born on the south shore of Montreal. Right after college, he attended the Faculté de médecine vétérinaire of the Université de Montréal. He obtained his doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in the summer of 2015 and has been a part of the large animal team at the Ormstown Veterinary Hospital since. His main fields of interests are bovine surgery and biosecurity of dairy herds.

Dr Jodi Wallace

Dr. Jodi Wallace grew up on a dairy farm in Herdman, Quebec. She studied veterinary medicine at the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph, Ontario. During her studies, she was involved in various research projects, including the evaluation of the CMT in calving and the treatment protocols for intra-mammary infections. She graduated in April 2002. Afterwards, she became an extension veterinarian for Quality Milk Production Services at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. At that point, she did preliminary studies with LactoCorder to evaluate the effects of various milking methods. She then worked as a large animal veterinarian in Saint-Benoît-Mirabel, Quebec, for two years. Jodi came back home in 2004 to work at the Ormstown Veterinary Hospital. In 2007, she became an owner associate at OVH. At the same time, she pursued her Masters in Veterinary Sciences at the Faculté de médecine vétérinaire in Saint-Hyacinthe. She did a research project on Petrifilm 3M for mastitis diagnostic in dairy cows, which she completed in 2009. Aside from general practice, Jodi does consultation on mastitis and milk quality. She gives conferences and seminars for veterinarians and dairy producers throughout North America. Jodi regularly writes articles for the Producteur de Lait and Canadian Ayrshire Review. She now lives with her family on a 100-cow dairy farm in Howick.

Dr Karine Gagné

Originally from the Saguenay region, Dr. Karine Gagné graduated from the Faculté de médecine vétérinaire of the Université de Montréal in 2000. She then completed an internship in bovine medicine and surgery at the FMV in St. Hyacinthe in 2001. She joined the Ormstown Veterinary Hospital team that same year. Dr. Gagné has a particular interest in bovine surgery, especially calf surgery.

Dr Mario Lefort

Dr. Mario Lefort received his degree in veterinary medicine from the Université de Montréal in 1979. He immediately started his veterinary practice in Ormstown, Québec, with Dr. John Whitehead. Very early in his career, he became interested in bovine herds' health and also in embryo transfer. He was one of the first veterinarians in the province of Quebec to freeze bovine embryos for direct transfers. Over the years, he has been involved with different associations: he served on the board of the AMVPQ for eight years. After this, he became involved with the Canadian Embryo Transfer Association for ten years, and was its president for two years.

Dr Vicky Sedgwick

Dr. Sedgwick comes from Saint-Louis-de-Gonzague. She obtained her doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2010 from the Faculté de médecine vétérinaire of the Université de Montréal. She has been working at the Ormstown Veterinary Hospital since April 2011. Her main interests include internal medicine, as well as canine and feline behaviour. Since 2017, Dr. Sedgwick is a certified professional in « Fear Free » and she has also completed, in 2018, the « Low Stress Handling » certification program. Two approaches that promote the physical and emotional well-being of animals.

Dr. John Whitehead

Dr. Whitehead welcomed in his team Dr. Mario Lefort in 1979 and Dr. Brent Hooker in 1980. They founded the Ormstown Veterinary Clinic in 1981. Dr. Howard Struthers arrived in 1981 and became a partner in 1982. Dr. Jean-François Lanthier arrived in 1988 and joined the partnership in 1989. Dr. John Whitehead practiced veterinary medicine in both the small and large animals' sectors for over forty years before his retirement in 1992. The following year, the veterinary clinic was expanded and renovated. In 1995, Dr. Kelly Rewbotham became a partner in the team.

Jessica Viau

Jessica has always had a passion for animals. Becoming an Animal Health Technician was a very natural path for her. She received her diploma in animal health technology from Vanier College in the spring of 2021, and completed her certification in the spring of 2022. She is now a certified veterinary technician. Jessica has an outgoing personality and loves meeting new animals and their owners! When she's not at work, you'll most likely find her at home cooking or relaxing with her beloved pets! Jessica is also a certified "Fear Free" professional, an approach that promotes the physical and emotional well-being of animals.

Julie Montpetit

Julie is originally from Saint-Étienne-de-Beauharnois and has always loved animals. After doing an internship at a veterinary clinic in 2001, Julie realized that working with animals was her true passion in life. Shortly after her enlightening experience, she started working in the veterinary field and became an Animal Health Technician a few years later. Since that time, Julie has evolved in the veterinary field and joined our team in December 2015. She is a very devoted individual who is always eager to learn new things and help others. Above all else, Julie believes that all animals should be given a second chance. All of her pets have been rescued. Julie is also a certified "Fear Free" professional, an approach that promotes the physical and emotional well-being of animals.

Marie-Soleil Labonté

Marie-Soleil has lived in Chateauguay with her family her whole life. She is an animal health technician and graduated from the CEGEP St-Hyacinthe in the spring of 2017, and she joined our team following her internship with us at the end of her study. Marie-Soleil has a quiet yet very energetic personnality! In her spare time, she likes to play soccer and softball. Animals are her passion, especially dogs. Biology, anatomy and behaviour are her favorite subjects of veterinary medicine. In 2018, Marie-Soleil has completed the « Low Stress Handling » certification program. Marie-Soleil is also a certified "Fear Free" professional, an approach that promotes the physical and emotional well-being of animals. Marie-Soleil completed her certification exam in June 2017 and is now a certified veterinary technician.

Trudy McWhinnie

Trudy McWhinnie has been a receptionist at the OVH since March 2002. She has 16 years of experience working with the public in her previous job as a dental assistant. Having been an animal lover all her life, she decided to make the change from two-legged patients to four-legged ones. She lives in Ormstown with her husband, two sons and dog Cooper. She likes to play and coach hockey.
