Emily R. Rubin

Emily has practiced civil litigation and family and matrimonial law since 1998. She received a Master of Business Administration degree, conferred with distinction, from Adelphi University in 1989. Thereafter, Emily worked in public relations and artist management in the music industry. She was an Articles Editor from 1996-1997 for the Cardozo Journal of International and Comparative Law while attending the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University. In 1998, Emily was admitted to the State Bars of New York and New Jersey and, in 1999, to the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Emily has worked in the offices of several prominent New York City matrimonial attorneys before joining Garr Silpe, P.C. in 2010. Emily resides in Westchester County with her husband and children. She plays tennis and volunteers for local political causes and the Humane Society of Westchester.

Jacqueline P. Itani

Jacqueline P. Itani is an Associate at Garr Silpe, LLP, and is known for her ability to provide effective and compassionate counsel. Since graduating law school, Jacqueline has practiced exclusively in the areas of Matrimonial and Family Law and prides herself on prioritizing client needs and applying her unique skills to each individual case. Jacqueline guides her clients through complex issues, while zealously advocating on their behalf and constantly strategizing efficient and satisfactory results for her clients. Jacqueline aims to settle disputes as amicably as possible, but is not afraid to litigate when necessary. Jacqueline received her J.D. from Benjamin N. Jacqueline interned for the Honorable Matthew F. Cooper in the New York Supreme Court, Matrimonial Part and following law school, she completed a fellowship at the Children's Law Center. Jacqueline is also certified in Family and Divorce Mediation. Jordana Barish

Jordana, a partner of Garr Silpe, P.C., represents clients in all aspects and phases of matrimonial and family law including the litigation of complex equitable distribution, child support, maintenance, custody, and parental alienation cases as well as the settlement of such matters. She also represents clients in the negotiation of their prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. Jordana has represented parties in same-sex divorce matters and prenuptial agreements. Jordana has an AV Preeminent Rating (highest possible rating by her peers and the judiciary in both legal ability and ethical standards) in the Martindale-Hubbell directory of attorneys for the since 2000. Jordana's expertise affords her the honor of being named a Super Lawyer in the New York Metropolitan Area since 2013. She has also been selected by New York Magazine as one of New York's Women Leaders in the Law, and as one of the Top Women Attorneys in the New York Metro Area, both since 2013. She has been quoted in The Points Guy on the issue of equitable distribution. Jordana has lectured to the New York Chapter of Women in Financial Services on the topic of commingling and transmutation of assets and its interplay with prenuptial agreements. She has served as a judge at the American Bar Association Law Student Division National Appellate Advocacy Competition Brooklyn Regional.

Lindsay Miller

Lindsay was admitted to the Bar of this State and to the Bar of New Jersey in 2005 following her graduation from Brooklyn Law School in June 2004. During law school, Lindsay received a CALI Award for Excellence in Legal Writing and was one of four students assigned to the Prince Evidence Competition (inter-law school appellate advocacy competition sponsored annually by Brooklyn Law School through its Moot Court Honor Society) Writing Team. Lindsay was selected by the American Society of Legal Advocates as one of the "Top 40 Under 40" family law attorneys in the country for 2014, 2015 and 2016. Lindsay has been cited in the supplement to the New York Times -- New York Super Lawyers - as a Rising Star for 2014 and 2015. Prior to joining Garr Silpe, P.C., Lindsay interned with the Supreme Court Justice Sherry Klein Heitler (now Administrative Judge for Civil Matters, First Judicial District) and thereafter worked with William D. London, Esq., one of the leading matrimonial attorneys in Westchester, New York. She also interned at Westchester Putnam Legal services and the Children's Law Center in Brooklyn, New York. Lindsay's professional activities include membership in the New York Bar Association (Family Law Section) and the New York County Lawyers' Association (Family Law Section). She serves on the Matrimonial Committee of the New York City Bar and is a participant of the Matrimonial Pro Bono Project for the New York Women's Bar Association. Lindsay was instrumental in the preparation and research of materials for many of the continuing legal education lectures given by Ira E. Garr, including programs on equitable distribution and custody. Lindsay is fully conversant with all facets of matrimonial law including equitable distribution, support matters, custody disputes and the trial thereof. She is also a certified mediator.

Raluca Smoleac-Dahm

Raluca was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2016 following her graduation from New York Law School in 2015. While in law school, Raluca had the unique experience of attending a matrimonial course taught by the Honorable Laura Drager and Ellen Gesmer. She attended law school in the evening division, while working full time for an international commercial real estate firm where she focused on contract and lease review. Raluca began her undergraduate studies at Boston University, later transferring to St John's University as a pre-law major. While at St. John's, she was selected for Dean's list each year she attended. Prior to joining Garr Silpe, Raluca worked as an associate at a personal injury firm located in Midtown Manhattan, where she gained a great deal of court room experience throughout the five boroughs. She is a member of the New York City Bar Association, and the New York State Bar Association, Family Law Section.

Steven M. Silpe

Steve has been a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, an organization comprised of the top family lawyers in the country, since 1994. He has been named as one of New York Magazine's "Super Lawyers" since 2007 and one of the Best Lawyers in the New York Metropolitan Area. Steve served on the Interdisciplinary Forum on Mental Health and Family Law. He is an experienced and highly regarded trial attorney and is also a trained mediator and has been chosen by his colleagues to mediate and arbitrate issues in their cases.
