Kent SeaTech LLC was founded in 1972 by Jack Van Olst and Jim Carlberg, scientists who directed a major aquaculture research program at San Diego State University and several SDSU aquaculture projects located at Scripps Institution of Oceanography during 1970-1979. Mike Massingill, a highly regarded fish culturist, joined the company in 1980. Kent SeaTech scientists have provided aquaculture consulting services on more than 200 projects for clients in 40 different countries, involving over 100 different species of fish and shellfish.
