Jeffrey Whitman, M.D., President and Chief Surgeon of the Key-Whitman Eye Center, was born in Dallas, attended Hillcrest High School and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Southern Methodist University. He earned his M.D. at Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, and also completed his internship at the same institution. Dr. Whitman completed his residency training in Ophthalmology at Scott and White Clinic in Temple, Texas. Dr. Whitman is married and the proud father of two daughters as well as 5 grandchildren. Dr. Whitman is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is also one of a few physicians in North Texas to be board certified in both Cataract surgery and LASIK by the American Board of Eye Surgeons. Dr. Whitman is a recipient of the American Medical Association Physician's Recognition Award. He is a past President of the American College of Eye Surgeons and the Dallas Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Whitman has been asked to serve on the boards of the Outpatient Ophthalmic Surgery Society, American College of Eye Surgeons, and the Society for Excellence in Eyecare. He is a Clinical Correspondent for the American Academy of Ophthalmology and past President for the Outpatient Ophthalmic Surgery Society. He has been named as "Best Ophthalmologist" in D Magazine for over 20 years as well as a Best Ophthalmologist in Texas by Texas Monthly. Dr. Kate Lee

Dr. Kate Lee, M.D. attended the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida for her undergraduate studies and continued there for her medical training. She completed her residency at Louisiana State University in New Orleans before moving to Texas and joining Key Whitman Eye Center. Dr. Lee is board certified and licensed in Texas. She has staff privileges at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, the Ophthalmic Surgery Center of Dallas and Key-Whitman Surgery Center in Dallas. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Texas Medical Association. Dr. Lee treats all diseases of the eye and specializes in cataract surgery including laser-assisted cataract surgery and the newest technology for accurate lens selection that is performed during the surgery. She is well-versed in selecting implants that greatly reduce dependence on glasses for both distance and near. She also performs LASIK, MIGS (minimally invasive glaucoma surgery) and canaloplasty procedures. In the clinic, Dr. Lee also evaluates and treats glaucoma including laser therapy, dry eye and diabetic eye disease. In her free time, Dr. Lee enjoys both jogging and cycling, and has participated each year in the Bike MS 150 Ride across Dallas to benefit multiple sclerosis. She otherwise has her hands full raising 2 young children with her husband. Indy and Clara Jo have taught her the true meaning of patience and love.

Faisal Haq

Dr. Haq has been a member of the surgical staff at Key Whitman since 2006. He specializes in cataract surgery, vision correction surgery, corneal disease, and glaucoma management. He has extensive experience with LASIK and PRK surgery to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. Dr. Haq also has a great interest in the latest lens implant technologies and has extensive experience with the newest generation of toric and multifocal lens implants designed to reduce patient's dependency on glasses after cataract surgery. Dr. Haq's passion for helping his patients has led him to continually study the latest medical and surgical options available. He has published articles in numerous peer-reviewed journals and has had the honor of speaking at national Ophthalmology meetings. Dr. Haq received his undergraduate degree from Boston University from where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He received his medical degree from the Boston University School of Medicine where he was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) honor society. Following his graduation from Medical School, he completed his internship in Internal Medicine at the Health Alliance Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. He then completed his Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago. During his final year of residency, he was invited to serve as Chief Resident by the faculty of the residency program. Following his graduation from the University of Illinois Ophthalmology program, Dr. Haq went on to the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in New York City to complete a fellowship in Corneal and Refractive Surgery. Dr. Haq then spent three years in Chicago where he was on the faculty of the University Of Illinois as an Assistant Professor prior to moving to Dallas and joining Key Whitman. Dr. Haq lives in Plano with his wife and two children. He loves to travel and has been on several surgical mission trips to Belize to perform charity cataract surgery.

Julio Cesar Albarracin

Dr. Albarracin was raised in Corpus Christi, TX. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the prestigious University of Pennsylvania. He returned to Texas to attend McGovern Medical School in Houston, TX. He completed his residency training in Ophthalmology at Georgetown University Hospital and Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. He chose to further his training and completed an additional one-year fellowship in Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery at Emory Eye Center in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Albarracin is committed to providing the highest quality of care and making patients feel comfortable. He specializes in the medical and surgical management of diseases of the cornea including Fuchs' endothelial dystrophy, dry eye, and keratoconus. He is trained in the most advanced techniques of corneal transplantation including endothelial keratoplasty (DMEK/DSAEK). Dr. Albarracin has a particular interest in cataract and refractive surgery and is experienced in LASIK/PRK, laser-assisted cataract surgery, and cutting-edge intraocular lens technologies. As a skilled general ophthalmologist, Dr. Albarracin treats the whole spectrum of eye conditions including glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Albarracin is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Cornea Society. He is also a native Spanish speaker. When he is not seeing patients, Dr. Albarracin enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and running.

Kimberly S. Warren

Dr. Kimberly Warren was born in Houston, Texas and is the proud mother of three children. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and graduated Summa cum Laude from Texas Tech University. She went on to earn her medical degree from the Texas Tech University Sciences Center, and was a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Today, she is a member of the surgical staff at Key-Whitman Surgery Center and Presbyterian Medical Center of Plano. Dr. Warren is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, as well as by the American Board of Eye Surgeons in the LASIK vision correction surgery and Cataract surgery. She is a member of various prominent professional associations, including the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Dallas Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Texas Medical Association. Experienced in all areas of general Ophthalmology, Dr. Warren strives to provide her patients with the best care possible by staying current with the latest techniques and medications. She uses the latest technology to help her glaucoma patients, including MIGS (minimally invasive glaucoma devices) and selective laser trabeculectomy. Additionally, she is an experienced LASIK surgeon, and also is credentialed to perform PRK and high technology lens implants including Symfony®, Tecnis Multifocal®, Crystalens® and ReSTOR® as well as the Toric IOL. These procedures can help correct vision reducing the need for glasses and contact lenses after cataract surgery.

Larry A. Fish

Ophthalmologist Larry Fish, MD will also be available in Mesquite on alternating weeks. Dr. Larry Fish, a Texas native, earned his degree in Chemistry from Texas Tech University where he was on the President's and Dean's list each semester. He was also awarded "Highest Ranking Graduate" of the College of Arts and Sciences in 1995. He continued his education at Texas Tech School of Medicine, earning his Medical Degree in 1999 and completed his Internship in Internal Medicine and his Residency in Ophthalmology in 2003. He comes to Key-Whitman after 12 years of private practice in Midland, Texas. Dr. Fish was named Chief Resident in 2003 and has since served as Clinical Instructor at the Texas Tech Department of Ophthalmology. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Texas Ophthalmology Association. He specializes in treating various eye disorders including Uveitis, Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration and Diabetic Retinopathy, but is experienced in all areas of Ophthalmology. When he isn't treating patients, he enjoys maintaining an active lifestyle and spending time with his wife and daughter.

Leslie Pfeiffer

Dr. Pfeiffer is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Texas Ophthalmology Association and the medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Pfeiffer is not only experienced in all areas of General Ophthalmology, but also has advanced training in eyelid, orbit, tear duct system and facial cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. She earned her Doctor of Medicine at the University Of Texas Medical School at Houston, where she was honored as the most outstanding student in her specialty. She was also voted "Outstanding Resident" by her fellow residents at the Ruiz Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston. She then completed a special two-year fellowship in Oculofacial Plastic Surgery at the Eyestetica and USC Roski Eye Institute at the Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, California. Dr. Pfeiffer has more than 40 papers and abstracts published in leading medical journals, and has presented her work at more than 15 Ophthalmology and Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery conferences. A few of her many honors and awards include Outstanding Resident, and Champion of the Quarter for excellence in patient care and advocacy. She is an alumni of Duke University and speaks Spanish as a second language. When she isn't treating patients, she enjoys skiing, cycling, rock climbing, and hiking.

Mark Stephens

Mark Stephens, MD, has extensive experience in cataract and refractive surgery. With the most advanced techniques and technologies available, Dr. Stephens offers patients innovative alternatives to wearing glasses and contacts. He also helps glaucoma patients with high-tech treatments using laser and micro-invasive procedures. In addition, Dr. Stephens has experience with early detection and intervention of diabetic retinopathy and other diabetic eye diseases. After graduating summa cum laude from Southern Methodist University, Dr. Stephens earned his M.D. at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He completed his Ophthalmology Residency at the Medical College of Georgia, where he was named Chief Resident his final year. Upon completion of his residency he moved back home to Dallas where he has been practicing for the past 5 years. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, has served as Medical Director for Walnut Hill Surgery Center, is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons and the Texas Medical Association. Dr. Stephens continues to be actively involved in research and currently serves as a Medical Director for SGS a clinical research organization. Both Dr. Stephens and his wife grew up in the Dallas area and are excited to serve their community. They stay busy raising their 2 wonderful children.

Naja Chisty

Naja Chisty D.O. is a native Texan, born in the Dallas area and raised in Plano. Dr. Chisty is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Memphis. She earned her D.O. from Rocky Vista University in Parker, Colorado. Dr. Chisty did both her internship in Internal Medicine and Ophthalmology residency at Larkin Hospital in South Miami, FL and served as chief resident. She continued her training with a one year fellowship in cornea, external disease and refractive surgery at the University of Missouri. Dr. Chisty is proud to return home and serve her community. She specializes in Cataract Surgery with Advanced Technology Intraocular Lenses and Femtosecond Laser, LASIK/PRK, and corneal surgeries. In addition, Dr. Chisty performs comprehensive eye exams and treats and manages conditions like dry eye, glaucoma, and retinal diseases. When she is not working, Dr. Chisty enjoys travelling and spending time with her family, children, and friends.

Ronald M. Barke

Dr. Barke was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and has been in practice in Arlington since 1995. He completed his training at the UT/Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas where he presently is a clinical assistant professor and teaches in the resident training program. He is a dedicated surgeon specializing in cataract and refractive surgery and is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Barke has performed thousands of cataract and refractive surgery procedures and presently performs the "state-of-the-art"no stitch cataract surgery. He also offers the toric IOL implant for astigmatism and multifocal IOL implants for patients who desire to reduce their dependency on reading glasses after cataract surgery. Dr. Barke has a strong commitment to his patients and community while providing the highest quality standard of medical and surgical care. Ron is married to Marci and has three children. He stays very busy with his family and has developed a passion for road racing. He loves to modify his BMW M3 and continues to develop his driving skills.
