LEASA

LEASA was established by the Logan County Commission on March 5, 1979. This was done after the Commission became "cognizant of the need for a uniform ambulance service in the County of Logan" and was established in accordance with Chapter 7, Article 15 of the West Virginia Code, as amended. LEASA was charged by law (through determination by the Logan County Commission) with the principal responsibility to provide or to make provision for emergency life support service to all Logan County citizens. LEASA, upon creation and enactment, consisted of a fifteen (15) member Decision-making Authority appointed by the Logan County Commission. LEASA then hired an Executive Director to implement the policies of LEASA... 2006 was eclipsed by the Alma Mine tragedy at Melville. LEASA also provided services for a bigger Massey Picnic.
