MAP ARCHITECTS - Key Persons
Architect and Associate Professor David A. Garcia is founder of MAP Architects and graduated from The Bartlett School of Architecture. He has worked at Foster and Partners, London and has been an Associate Partner and co-owner at Henning Larsen Architects, Copenhagen; where he worked for nine years. He is the editor and publisher of the international publication Manual of Architectural Possibilities, now in its eighth issue.
He was appointed Head of the Institute for Architecture and Technology at the Royal Danish Arts Academy, Copenhagen, from 2014 to 2018, where he also directs the two year masters course: Architecture and Extreme Environments since 2014.
He lectures and exhibits world-wide and is an invited guest jury member, both nationally and internationally. In recent years David has exhibited work in Beijing, New York, Chicago, London, Barcelona, Madrid, Oslo, Copenhagen and Rotterdam. His work has been exhibited at the Venice International Biennale of Architecture in three occasions, at the Danish Pavilion.
In 2007 he was awarded a prestigious 3 year bursary grant from the Danish Art Council and in 2021 was warded the international prize for Teaching Innovation by the International Union of Architects,
