Cam Burbank is a Registered Provisional Psychologist, and an avid life-long learner. His educational background includes a master's degree in counselling from City University of Seattle. Additional training includes couple's training (Gottman). Cam's approach to therapy is a simple one, focused on enhancing client's self-awareness to help them become the best version of themselves. He views therapy as a customized and collaborative process where the client is the expert in his or her life, and clear and specific goals are set to help bring about meaningful and lasting change.

Erla Christens

Erla Christens is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. She has provided counselling for 16+ years to adolescents, adults, couples, and groups dealing with psychological trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, codependency, self-esteem issues, personality disorders, emotional and sexual abuse, substance dependence, and eating disorders, both in Europe and in Canada. Erla specializes in couples therapy, and also has expertise in treating PTSD, trauma, grief, depression and related affective disorders, anxiety, and recovery from different forms of abuse. Erla Christens is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. Erla received her Bachelor of Arts degree at Concordia University in Montreal and her Masters in Counselling Psychology from Athabasca University. Erla draws on strategies from Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), based on the theories of Aaron Beck and Albert Ellis, to emphasize the interconnectedness of thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, and to guide and assist clients to achieve their goals for counselling in order to alleviate current distress and prevent future concerns. In addition to CBT, Erla incorporates a number of other theoretical orientations and interventions in order to accommodate her clients' needs. These include Attachment Theory and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and focuses on 4 key components--mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness--as she teaches clients ways to use these skills and strategies. Erla believes that client engagement through homework and practice is an important component of therapeutic work. Erla has provided counselling both in Europe and Canada to adolescents, adults, couples, and groups dealing with psychological trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, codependency, self-esteem issues, emotional and sexual abuse, substance dependence, and eating disorders. Erla aims to create a comfortable atmosphere during her sessions and puts a great emphasis on monitoring the progress and outcome of therapy to ensure that therapy is benefiting her clients and serving their best interests. Erla is fluent in French and Italian, in addition to English. She has completed Level 1 of Gottman Method training for couples therapy.

Kassandra Heap

Kassandra Heap is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. Kassandra received her Bachelor of Arts degree (honours) in Psychology at the University of Victoria and her Masters in Counselling Psychology from Athabasca University. Prior to becoming an affiliate with Cobb & Associates, Kassandra worked as a School Counsellor with adolescents and young adults, and then as a Clinical Counsellor working with individuals, couples and families. Kassandra enjoys helping couples work on gridlocked issues by moving from resentment and frustration to understanding and respect. Her main goal in working with couples is to help them develop a greater sense of empathy and understanding towards their partner. Part of this process involves guiding couples to identify their values, goals and needs as individuals, and learning how to communicate them to their partner.

Katie Bradley

Katie is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. Katie holds a Master of Counselling in Counselling Psychology from Athabasca University and an Honours Bachelor of Social Science in Communications and Sociology from the University of Ottawa. Katie has four years experience providing counselling to individuals and couples in the areas of: Couples counselling and interpersonal relationships Self-esteem Depression Anxiety Interpersonal conflict and communication Trauma Injury recovery Life transitions Eating disorders Parenting and divorce Katie is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. Katie holds a Master of Counselling in Counselling Psychology from Athabasca University and an Honours Bachelor of Social Science in Communications and Sociology from the University of Ottawa. Katie has four years experience providing counselling to individuals and couples in the areas of: Couples counselling and interpersonal relationships Interpersonal conflict and communication Self-esteem Depression Anxiety Trauma Injury recovery Life transitions Eating disorders Parenting and divorce Katie has worked in a community mental health setting with many different problems and populations, particularly self-esteem, parenting issues, and eating disorders. She then moved to post-secondary counselling, and working with individuals recovering from workplace injuries. Her background in sociology and communications means that she brings an extra perspective for people dealing with interpersonal issues of any type. Experience Katie has worked in federal politics, post-secondary, and educational publishing. Each of these fields dealt heavily with interpersonal relationships and communication, and those experiences pushed Katie to become a psychologist, as well as influencing her perspective as a therapist. Katie approaches therapy as a collaboration between herself and the client. She is open to feedback and believes the client is the expert in their own life. In session, she uses a mix of existential, solution-focused, narrative, cognitive behavioural, and feminist therapy approaches. This means that Katie focuses on the client's perspective, considers personal and interpersonal factors impacting the problem, explores goals and possible outcomes with the client, and identifies patterns or habits that may be contributing to the problem. Katie has completed training in Gottman level 1 and 2 couples counselling, as well as in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy.

Russell Millington

Russell Millington is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. With over ten years of clinical experience, Russ has worked with many people presenting with various difficulties and struggles, including relationship issues, addictions and mental health concerns. He has been affiliated with Cobb & Associates since 2011.
