Dr Ben McGettigan

Job Titles:
  • Clinical Immunologist
Ben is a dual trained Clinical Immunologist and Immunopathologist. He is originally from New Zealand and completed a medical degree at the University of Auckland in 2003. He moved to Western Australia in 2005 and worked at various hospitals before completing his fellowship in 2014. Ben has multiple publications in peer reviewed journals, predominantly in the field of autoimmunity. He has given presentations at local as well as state conferences. He is currently working 3 days a week at Fiona Stanley Hospital and 2 days a week at Perth Allergy. Ben is happy to receive allergy referrals for patients aged 10 years or over. Perth Allergy is set up for video consultations which can be provided for country patients if appropriate. In his spare time Ben likes to spend time with his wife and 2 daughters and ride his bike when he finds the time. Ben is a dual trained Clinical Immunologist and Immunopathologist. more

Dr Nicola Benwell

  • Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians
Dr Nicola Benwell undertook her medical training at The University of Sydney and then returned to her home town of Perth to complete her specialist training in Immunology and Allergy. Nicola works in private practice at Perth Allergy, where she offers clinical care for adults and children, 6 years and older. She also provides telehealth appointments for patients who live rurally. Nicola is also employed as a Clinical Immunologist and Allergist at Fiona Stanley Hospital. She has a keen interest in education and research and holds a Clinical Senior Lecturer position at The University of Western Australia where she completed her PhD. Nicola is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and is an active member of the Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy (ASCIA), Australia and New Zealand's peak professional body for allergists and immunologists, where she participates in several working committees. Outside of work, Nicola is the proud mother of three children. Nicola works in private practice at Perth Allergy, where she offers clinical care for adults and children, 6 years and older. more

Dr Richard Nolan

Richard studied at the University of Western Australia and has worked and researched within the field of allergy since 2002. He has published and presented on allergic rhinitis, immunotherapy (desensitisation), peanut allergy, insect venom allergies, drug and skin allergies. He has participated in pharmaceutical advisory boards for treatments for allergic rhinitis and urticaria. He has actively contributed to creating treatment guidelines for the Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy (ASCIA) in the areas of skin testing, desensitisation and chronic spontaneous urticaria. Richard commenced private practice in 2006, while working in Melbourne with the world renowned Allergy, Immunology and Respiratory medicine unit at The Alfred Hospital. He then returned to his home town and settled down in Perth. He currently works only in private practice at Perth Allergy, but has previously held positions at Princess Margaret Hospital, Fremantle hospital and more recently Fiona Stanley hospital. His focus is on providing the best care possible in Perth Allergy. He is able to see, and care for adults and children aged 10 years and over. While he practices in Perth, he is also able to provide video consultations with many people from country locations. In his spare time, he enjoys contributing to the local community. He has 3 children and is actively involved with their sports.
