PIER 25

In May of 2005, Gov. George Pataki announced the long-anticipated allocation of $70 million for the rebuilding of the Tribeca portion of Hudson River Park. Demolition of Tribeca's two piers, 25 and 26, started in November of 2005... The Hudson River Park Trust launched the Tribeca-segment reconstruction in summer 2006. Funded by the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation and the State and City of New York, the $100 million project is rehabilitating the piers and rebuilding the "uplands" (shore areas) from Houston Street to Stuyvesant High School, at the north end of Battery Park City.
