PILBARA MESQUITE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

The Pilbara Mesquite Management Committee (PMMC) is a not-for-profit group which combines the knowledge and skills of government, industry, research, pastoral and community sectors to tackle one of the greatest natural resource management enemies in the Pilbara - mesquite... Our group is comprised of an Executive Committee and supported by a general membership open to the public. Meetings of the PMMC are held twice a year, usually in Karratha and on a partnering pastoral station... Of increasing importance to the PMMC is facilitating the development of fully resourced and documented long-term weed management programs. We are leveraging investment from large resource projects in the Pilbara to assist in managing weeds on their tenements and adjoining lands. This investment is currently in the order of $1 million per year.
