PROINDE - Key Persons
Alexia joined Proinde as an apprentice in 2017. She assists in the office administration and manages company's archiving systems.
Started in the shipping business in 1969 as a boarding clerk in a traditional shipping agency owned by a British family in Santos, later managing the agency's Claims Department until 1975, when he moved to Rio de Janeiro to start his career in P&I as office manager of a correspondent firm in that port. In 1978, Carlos returned to Santos to take the same position at a competing firm, Proinde. He holds a Law degree and regularly participates in papers and debates with students. Deals with all types of claims having attained extensive expertise in his more than 50 years as a professional correspondent dealing with pollution and high profile casualties. He also assists our principals in their education and marketing strategies in the country.
A technical accountant graduate, Carlos worked for three years in a local engineering company as an Occupational Health and Safety Technician before joining the company in 2003 as a junior cargo surveyor. Following a spell as an independent surveyor between 2015 and 2020, he rejoined the company as a cargo and draft surveyor. He also manages the company's OSH procedures and certifications.

Claudio is a logistics technician who worked as a quality inspector for ten years at a local cargo surveying company before joining Proinde's loss prevention team in 2022.
Daniel joined in 2010 following eight years of experience as a cargo loading controller and tally clerk in a major steel refinery port terminal. He conducts loss prevention surveys with the Operations' team and is responsible for the Internal Commission for the Prevention of Accidents (CIPA) of the company.
Eduardo started his career in shipping at Proinde in 1994. After five years as a surveyor, he went to work for a number of local surveying and ship fumigation companies. In 2018, he returned to Proinde to help start the office in Barcarena, returning to the Santos office in 2020. He is a qualified surveyor and is taking an academic degree in port management.
Fernando holds a degree in Foreign Trade and worked for ten years before joining Proinde in 2022 to assist with precautionary surveys. Currently studying Port Management.
Graduated in Journalism, Isabela worked for a traditional shipping agency in Santos as an Import Assistant and later lived for three years in Canada. She returned to Brazil in early 2019 to join Proinde, where she works in the operations department and supports the claims team.
After living in the USA for a year studying English, Isabela graduated in Marketing and advertising and is currently taking a law. An accredited Loss Adjuster, she joined the company in 2020 and handles the billing systems, assists the claims team, and manages the company's marketing initiatives and social media.
After four years of experience as a cargo quality inspector for major commodity superintendent companies in the Amazon region, John joined the company's in 2022 and assist with loss prevention surveys.
Juliana worked as a teacher of Portuguese and English for eight years and as a press relations for social media and television for one year. She was admitted in 2012 and is responsible for the office accounting and administration. She provides secretarial services to claims staff and also helps in the office documentation and filing systems.
Julio Cesar is graduated in Business Administration and worked for three years at a surveying company in Barcarena before joining Proinde in 2023.
Kennedy joined Proinde's Operations team in 2018 after acquiring substantial expertise as a cargo inspector for internationally-recognised commodity certification and inspection companies. He holds an associate degree in Logistics and is post-graduated in Foreign Trade and International Business.
Leandro had a previous experience as a shipping agent for six years before joining Proinde (Nordeste) as an Assistant Claim Executive in 2006.
Marcelo worked for nearly a decade as a cargo quality surveyor for internationally-recognised cargo superintendence companies. He is also a soya bean and corn grader certified by the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture and joined Proinde office in São Luis in 2023 to asssit with loss prevention surveys.
A qualified seagoing Master, he served from 1976 to 1994 on board various types of vessels from the former state-owned shipping company Lloyd Brasileiro. Marcos came ashore in 1994 to work for a surveying firm from Rio de Janeiro, where he performed varied marine and cargo surveys and accident investigations for salvage companies, H&M and P&I underwriters. He joined Proinde (Rio) in 1997 where he handled all types of P&I, H&M and FD&D claims having also performed cargo surveys and accident investigations. In 2005, he moved to Recife to manage the our the office of Proinde (Nordeste) which also covers the nearby Port of Suape.
Joined the company in 1993 after reading two years of Mechanical Engineering. Graduated in Business Administration and Law. Mauricio oversees the loss prevention exercises and retains particular expertise in the handling of personal injury cases. Appointed partner in 2008.
Lawyer registered with the Brazilian Bar Association, Paulo has been part of the Loss Prevention department at Proinde since 2016, where he assists with cargo precautionary surveys.

Rafaela has a degree in Business Administration with an MBA in Controllership and Finance. She worked for a major container shipping line before joining the company in early 2022 to manage the financial and accounting systems and assist in human resources routines.
Robson worked for seven years as cargo quality surveyor before joining Proinde in 2023 to assist the operations team with loss prevention surveys. He is graduating in production engineering.
Rodrigo holds a certificate in Ship Operations from Lloyd's Maritime Academy, a degree in Logistics and a post-graduation in Maritime Law. After a few years of living in the UK, he returned to Brazil in 2009 and joined a shipping agency in Santos, where he worked as a Boarding Clerk and later as the Operations Manager prior to joining Proinde in 2017. He handles P&I claims and assists in managing the loss prevention services performed by the operations team.

Derossi is a Deck Officer and Mechanical Engineer and has spent three years sailing on bulk carriers. He worked for five years in the industrial area of Rio de Janeiro and twelve with Docenave, where he rounded most of the departments, particularly the commercial, bunkering and insurance divisions. Joined Proinde in 1998 and handles all types of P&I, H&M and FD&D claims.
Simpson was born in Canada and joined the office in 1996 and following a stint in the hotel industry he returned to the firm in 2005 to join the loss prevention team dedicated to surveys on steel products and agricultural commodities.
An electronics technician with a degree in logistics, Tiago worked for nearly a decade as a tally clerk and inspector at the port terminal of a local steel mill before being recruited in 2023 to reinforce the loss prevention team.

Vania is a mechanical engineer who graduated with an emphasis in computer simulation of mathematical models and fluid dynamics. She is also an English public translator and commercial interpreter. Working since 2011 as a field surveyor, she joined Proinde in 2023 to manage the Itaqui and Barcarena offices, handle P&I claims and assist with the management of the loss prevention services performed by our operations team.
