Anita H. Hurlburt

Anita was raised in Oslo, Norway. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English - Rhetoric and Language, cum laude, from the University of Alaska Anchorage and graduated cum laude from the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawaii. During law school, Anita served as summer clerk for Chief Justice Mark E. Recktenwald of the Hawaii Supreme Court, externed for Judge Dayna Beamer of the Honolulu Immigration Court and with a criminal defense firm, and worked for a boutique civil litigation law firm. Following law school, she serves as law clerk at the Hawaii Intermediate Court of Appeals to Judge Alexa D. M. Fujise for one year, then as interim law clerk to Chief Judge Lisa M. Ginoza and Judge Clyde J. Wadsworth. After her clerkships, Anita relocated to Boise, Idaho, where she entered into private practice with a civil litigation defense firm before joining Quane McColl, PLLC. Her primary practice areas include medical malpractice, agricultural, and real estate litigation defense. Anita is admitted to practice law in Idaho, Alaska, and Hawaii. Anita values spending time with her husband and children and enjoys a plethora of outdoor activities, home improvement projects, and various creative arts.

Matthew F. McColl

Matt is a second-generation attorney. He obtained his undergraduate degree with honors from the College of Idaho, where he played soccer (go ‘Yotes). He studied Political Theory, International Relations and the Law at the University of Utah. Matt returned home after the U and served a one-year judicial clerkship with the Honorable Kathryn Sticklen of the Idaho's Fourth Judicial District. Matt has spent his entire career with the lawyers at Quane McColl, PLLC. Matt has dedicated his career to the defense of businesses, hospitals and medical professionals. Matt has tried cases throughout Idaho. He has represented clients in 41 out of Idaho's 44 counties and regularly argues cases before Idaho's Supreme Court. This Alaska practice is also state-wide (and that's saying something). He is AV®-rated by Martindale-Hubbell. Matt is an avid Nordic and alpine skier, a capable mountain biker and decent fisherman. Matt and his wife Jenny are the proud parents of two daughters who are always on the go.

Olivia N. Ford

Olivia obtained a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology, with a certificate in elementary Latin from Boise State University. She then went on to graduate, magna cum laude, from Concordia University School of Law. Olivia worked as paralegal during her first two years of law school, gaining invaluable experience. In law school, Olivia worked in Concordia's Criminal Clinic as a prosecuting extern for the City of Boise Attorney's Office handling a variety of matters. After law school Olivia joined a small boutique civil litigation firm with an emphasis on civil rights. Upon closure of that firm, Olivia joined Quane McColl, PLLC and is thrilled to be part of the team. In her free time, Olivia enjoys spending time with her husband, going for walks on the green belt, crocheting, perusing local record stores, and taking care of her growing plant collection.

Sara C. Mozingo

Sara obtained her law degree from the University of Idaho College of Law. Prior to joining Quane McColl, Sara clerked for Judge Benjamin Cluff of the Fifth Judicial District of Idaho. During law school, Sara externed for former Chief Magistrate Judge Ronald Bush of the U.S. District Court for the District of Idaho, worked as a summer associate for a firm in Boise, and participated in the school's Entrepreneurship Law Clinic. She also previously served as a legislative intern for the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives. Sara worked her way through undergrad as a nursing assistant, providing in-patient care on the general surgery unit and out-patient care in a GI lab at a hospital. Outside of work, Sara enjoys doing gymnastics, pilates, and spending time with her dog.

Vala L. Metz

Vala focuses her practice on the defense of medical practitioners and facilities statewide. Vala obtained degrees in history and law from the University of Idaho, working with the Idaho Conservation League and the United States Attorney's Office in externship. Following law school, she served as law clerk to the Honorable Trevor N. Stephens, a Superior Court Judge serving Alaska's First Judicial District in Ketchikan, Alaska. At the end of her clerkship term, Vala relocated to the Treasure Valley where she entered private practice with a civil litigation defense firm in Eagle, Idaho. Since joining Quane McColl, PLLC, she is proud to continue the firm's tradition of providing high-quality legal counsel to members of Idaho and Alaska's great and varied medical communities. Outside of practice and professional associations, Vala spends her free time with her family and friends, taking in live music, traveling, and getting outdoors. She is a native Idahoan and her children are the sixth generation of her family to call Idaho home.
