Ami Garry

Ami has been involved with the Colorado Daylight Partnership since it first started as the Colorado Mental Health and Substance Abuse Task Force and continues to be involved in various roles. Through her experience in past at WellPower (WellPower) and Deaf Overcoming Violence through Empowerment (DOVE), Ami shares her knowledge and expertise in past two decades with trauma informed work in victim and mental health services. Ami currently works as consultant for various organizations and is Certified Reiki Master/Teacher providing 1:1 services and classes. Ami's passion is promoting equality and advancing access for Deaf, Deaf Blind, Hard of Hearing and Deaf Disabled Coloradans.

Cliff, Director of the Colorado Commission for the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and DeafBlind, holds a Master's degree from Regis University in Management, with an emphasis in organizational development and human resources. He has been involved in numerous community organizations, committees, task forces, councils, and boards, including four years as president of the Colorado Association of the Deaf (CAD). Cliff is the founder of the Rocky Mountain Deaf School, a bilingual Jefferson County Charter School for students in the metro Denver area. His professional background includes student services at the University of Colorado at Boulder and coordination of auxiliary services at Communication Service for the Deaf/Sign Language Associates. He has also served as an employment specialist/consultant for the Center for People with Disabilities in Boulder and ran a family-owned business, Deaf-initelyPossible Resources.

Denise McHugh

Denise, a staff member with Spark Community Foundation, serves as Colorado Daylight Partnership's research and evaluation consultant. Denise has over 30 years of experience in the health and human services field. Her areas of focus include policy and legal research, evaluation studies, project management, strategic financing, planning and facilitation, and legislation. She is an attorney admitted in Colorado and New York. Denise publishes on legal and policy issues affecting adults, and children, youth and families at the national and state level.

James is a strategic thinker and visionary leader known for his ability to convert organizational intent into tangible results. He is also committed to delivering operational excellence with an equity lens. James most recently came from Vivent Health, an AIDS service organization providing medical home services for people living with HIV, where he served as senior vice president of operations. His experience also includes executive operations roles at two prominent organizations serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities: Bridges US and Bethesda Lutheran Communities. James currently serves as a board director for the Children's Museum Denver at Marsico Campus and served as a former board director for The Academy of Urban Learning, a charter school focusing on students experiencing difficult barriers to achieving educational success.
