- Registered Occupational Therapist
Erica is a registered occupational therapist with 15 years' experience in occupational rehabilitation. Following graduation from the University of Western Sydney in 2007 with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy, Erica commenced her career as a rehabilitation consultant with CRS Australia. During this role she gained skills in vocational and occupational rehabilitation including case management, workplace assessments, injury prevention, functional assessments, task analysis and ultimately facilitating a safe and timely return to work.
Following the closure of CRS Australia Erica furthered her skills in occupational rehab with a number of large rehab providers and built skills in both physical and psychological injury having worked on contracts with Department of Defence, Department of Corrective Services and Department of Veteran Affairs. These contracts provided a foundation for developing strategies to overcome the biopsychosocial, mental, physical, financial and environmental barriers that injuries can have on the return to work process. In addition to these contracts, Erica has experience in the construction, retail, corporate, transport, warehouse and logistics and manufacturing industries.
As a registered occupational therapist, Erica has also gained skills in the clinical setting including equipment prescription, environmental modification, task adaptation and modification, skill building exercises, activities of daily living assessments and holistic goal setting.
Erica has also worked as a Return to Work Coordinator for a large not-for-profit organisation where she facilitated safe, sustainable and timely return to work with minimal time loss for work-related and non-work-related injuries and illness, and successfully implemented strategies to reduce the number of new claims for both psychological and physical injuries.
Since Erica joined the Rehab Options Injury Management team we have appreciated her prior training and expertise and provided her with the additional knowledge on the strategies and engagement Rehab Options have utilised to great effect for our valued clients and their employees.
Nicholas joined the team at Rehab Options Injury Management after completing a Bachelor's degree of Exercise Science and a Master's degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology at the University of Wollongong. Nicholas is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (ESSA). Nicholas' experience included clinical placements in Cardiac Rehabilitation at Nepean Hospital, Optimum Health Solutions Croydon Park, and South West Health Management. From these placements, Nicholas has gained extensive knowledge in proficiency in developing and implementing exercise interventions for a range of cardiovascular, metabolic, neurological, psychological and ageing conditions.

Karmel has a varied background having worked in manufacturing and industry as well as health and home care. She also has extensive experience in pre employment assessment s and task analysis to reduce the risk when employing staff. With her ergonomic skills and understanding of the human body and injury she is very capable in worksite assessments and setting up return to work plans.
Other skills that Karmel can offer are manual handling training with an emphasis on usable work skills. She can also provide on site physiotherapy services (early intervention) with the ability to look at the task and reduce the risk.
Karmel's aim is to improve efficiencies in return to work. Communicating well at all levels of an organisation is the key.
Nanette Whatman commenced employment with Rehab Options in 2007 and continues to compliment our existing professional team as a consultant. Nanette has extensive experience in occupational rehabilitation having being employed in the industry since 1996.
Nanette attended Sydney University to obtain a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Rehabilitation Counselling) and combined this with a Post Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management through Charles Sturt University. Nanette has held positions as a Rehabilitation Counsellor with an accredited Rehabilitation Provider where she gained practical experience of her studies.
Nanette was then employed as a Return to Work Coordinator with a Government Department. During her varied roles Nanette has acquired extensive skills in managing complex claims balancing the support required for the injured worker with the interests of an organisation.

Natalie joined the team at Rehab Options Injury Management after working as a Paralegal/Legal Secretary. Natalie has excellent communication and organisational skills. Importantly, Natalie has shown the capacity and intelligence to effectively and compassionately deal with the reports of workplace injuries to effectively have our experienced team engage to obtain the best possible outcome.
Natalie is enthusiastic to provide the best possible service to our internal and external clients. Natalie's role has earned her an Executive Assistant status so as to not only engage and allocate resources for reported workplace injuries, but to importantly advice and assist the Managing Director and key Injury Management personnel so that any reported workplace injury or incident gets the support of the entire organisation. Natalie now is the key link for ensuring that reported injuries are allocated to the relevant Allied Health personnel in Rehab Options. Also, facilitating the entire administrative and communicative functions necessary for our unique and specialised service.

Operations Risk and Strategy/Engaged Return to Work Coordinator Steve founded the company in 1989 and is passionate about delivering service and results that clients and workers would have previously not considered possible. Steve has been involved in providing proactive, hands on injury and claims management in the industry since 1989. His previous experience includes New South Wales Police Service, Customs Service and the Department of Business & Consumer affairs. Steve is a qualified WorkCover (NSW) Return to Work Coordinator and trainer; and is experienced in:
