He has trained in boat building processes in Japan in the year 1991, qualified in Fiberglass Technology from the Institute of Technical and Further Education (CASEY) Melbourne - Australia in the year 1996/1997.He also has completed a course in total quality management at the Institute of Technical and Further Education (CASEY) Melbourne - Australia in the year 1997.
He was in charge of local sales of boats at Blue Star Marine Ltd and sale of fiberglass raw materials to the local market, government institutes, handling of tenders of the Sri Lanka Forces.

Sohan started his working career at a very young age and was an active member and part of the board of directors with FRP Services & Co. Lanka Ltd. A leading business operated by his father and family since 1979. FRP Services were, at the time, the giants in the Fiber Glass Industry with a manufacturing boat factory called ‘Blue Star Marine' in Sri Lanka.
Over the years, the business was diversified and he became the owner and the Managing Director of his very own company, S.L.J. Holdings SDN. BHD. in the year 2009, in Malaysia. A relatively young business extensively serving the construction, HVAC and MVAC market in Sri Lanka, Maldives and other South Asian countries.
