Adam Heisinger

Adam Heisinger, DO, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, fellowship trained in sports medicine and arthroscopy. At Sports Medicine Oregon in Tigard and Wilsonville, Dr. Heisinger treats athletes of all ages and skill levels, with his main focus on arthroscopically treated disorders of the knee and shoulder. He also performs knee and hip replacement surgery, utilizing the anterior, minimally invasive, muscle sparing approach, as well as traumatic injuries including broken bones in both kids and adults. He specializes in ACL, meniscus and other reconstructive surgery of the knee, and rotator cuff repairs, as well as stabilization procedures in the shoulder. Dr. Heisinger received his undergraduate degree at the University of South Dakota, before earning his medical degree at Des Moines University. After completing his internship, he spent 4 years in the Air Force as a flight surgeon. There he was a member of the Fighting Eagle's 27thFighter Squadron in Langley, VA, equipped with the F-22 Raptor. He was then stationed at Shaw, SC with the 79thFighter Squadron, operating the F-16 Viper. He was deployed overseas several times, and finished his career after logging more than 100 fighter jet hours. Dr. Heisinger completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Affinity Medical Center in Massillon, OH, and chose to specialize even further in sports medicine and minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery at Orthopedic Research of Virginia in Richmond, VA. There he covered athletes of all skill levels, including the Old Dominion University Monarchs, multiple high school teams, and the Washington Commanders NFL team. After completing his training, he took his talents to La Grande, OR, where he was the head team physician and surgeon of the Eastern Oregon University Mountaineers. He did not limit his treatment to just athletes however, and honed his skills with anterior approach total hip replacements, knee replacements, trauma surgery, as well as degenerative conditions, pediatrics, and work injuries. He was also a clinical preceptor for Oregon Health and Sciences University (OHSU), teaching orthopedics to medical students. Dr. Heisinger is thrilled to join Sports Medicine Oregon, where he is one of the team physicians for the Portland Timbers, and an orthopedic consultant for the Portland Thorns. He is also proud to provide coverage and orthopedic support to the local high schools. He believes in a patient-centered approach, taking time to explain the options and making the right decision with you, for you. When he's not working, Dr. Heisinger enjoys all of the activities the PNW has to offer, including camping, hiking, hunting, and fishing, and spending time with friends and family including his daughter, Briley.

ANA SARISH - COO

Ana Sarish holds a BA from University of Washington, an MBA from George Fox University and she is working on her BS in Healthcare Management from OHSU, where is continuing to expand her analytical and critical thinking skills. Ana is guided by a set of core values that include strong communication and exceptional customer service. These principles underpin her professional decisions and interactions, fostering a reputation for integrity, reliability, and a collaborative spirit. Beyond the professional realm, Ana is actively involved in her kids' local school, Boys Team Charity and her local city events. Whether through mentorship programs, volunteer work, or participation in industry associations, she strives to contribute to the betterment of the community. On her free time, she loves to watch her kids in sports, travel with her family, yoga and reading.

ANDREW CONNER

Andrew was born and raised in Corvallis, OR and graduated from Lewis & Clark College here in Portland with a BA in Chemistry. He received his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Samuel Merritt University in Oakland, CA. Andrew has playing and coaching experience in a wide variety of sports and activities, including baseball, softball, soccer, golf, cycling, and lacrosse, which gives him an intimate knowledge of his patients' recreational and participation goals. He also has a special interest in working with pediatric patients. Andrew has been with SMO since 2019.

Conrad G Hamilton

Conrad Hamilton, MD, is an orthopedic hand surgery specialist and microvascular surgeon with the team at Sports Medicine Oregon in Wilsonville and Tigard, Oregon. He has a special interest in sports injuries, fracture management, upper extremity trauma, nerve repair, flap reconstruction, congenital differences, and arthritis of the hand. Dr. Hamilton attended Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington, and Portland State University in Oregon for his undergraduate education. He earned his medical degree at Oregon Health and Science University School of Medicine. Dr. Hamilton then completed a general surgery internship at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center in Albuquerque. He then remained there to pursue subspecialty training in hand and microvascular surgery through an RRC-accredited fellowship in orthopedic hand surgery. His hospital affiliations include Oregon Outpatient Surgery Center, Meridian Park Hospital, Providence St. Vincent Hospital, Providence Willamette Falls Hospital, and Northwest Ambulatory Surgical Center. Dr. Hamilton is the consulting hand surgeon for the Portland Timbers of Major League Soccer, the Portland Thorns, and the Portland Thunder. He has co-presented "Results After Carpal Tunnel Release Using a Limited Incision Technique with Direct Visualization" in Portland, Oregon, at the International College of Surgeons 73rd Annual Meeting with the American Academy of Neurological & Orthopedic Surgeons. Dr. Hamilton is originally from Portland. He grew up playing soccer and is an outdoor enthusiast. He is actively raising two labs - Chloe and Luna.

Dr. Caitlyn Beals

Caitlyn Beals is a board-certified Physician Assistant. Native to the Pacific Northwest, she earned her undergraduate degree at Oregon State University and Master of Physician Assistant Studies at the University of New England in Portland, Maine. She is involved in all areas of orthopedic patient care in the clinic, hospital, and operating room. An Oregonian born and raised, Caitlyn is thrilled to have returned and provide orthopedic care to members of her community. Outside of the office, Caitlyn spends time with her husband raising their young family.

JENNIFER JUDELSON

Ms. Judelson is a certified Physician Assistant who joined our practice in 2014. She has clinical and surgical experience in general orthopedics, with an emphasis in hand and foot injuries.

JESS SMITH

Jess completed her undergraduate studies at Cal poly San Luis Obispo and graduated with a BS in kinesiology. She went on to earn her professional doctorate at Northern Arizona University and completed her residency at OHSU Specializing in the treatment of neurological disorders. Jess has been a member of SMO's hand therapy team since 2018.

Jonathan E. Greenleaf

Jonathan Greenleaf, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who is fellowship-trained in sports medicine and pediatric orthopedics. At Sports Medicine Oregon in Tigard and Wilsonville, Oregon, Dr. Greenleaf treats a wide variety of orthopedic patients and is especially skilled in arthroscopic treatment of knees and shoulders. Dr. Greenleaf received his undergraduate degree at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. He earned his medical degree at Boston University School of Medicine in Massachusetts. After completing an internship at Eastern Virginia Medical Center in Norfolk, Virginia, Dr. Greenleaf returned to the Boston University School of Medicine for his orthopedic surgery residency. He furthered his training by completing both a pediatric orthopedic fellowship in New Zealand and a sports medicine fellowship at the Orthopedic and Fracture Clinic in Eugene, Oregon. Dr. Greenleaf is a master instructor in both shoulder and knee surgery. Currently, he is a team physician for the Portland Timbers professional soccer team and an orthopedic consultant for the Portland Thorns. He was the Medical Director for the 2016 US Track & Field indoor championships and 2016 World Championships. He was also the team physician for the US Olympic Track & Field Trials. Some of Dr. Greenleaf's current research includes the use of biologic injections in tissue healing, as well as a national study investigating minimally invasive cartilage restoration surgeries. He is affiliated with several hospitals in the area, including Oregon Outpatient Surgery Center, Meridian Park Hospital, Providence St. Vincent Hospital, Providence Willamette Falls Hospital, and Northwest Ambulatory Surgical Center. Besides maintaining his practice, Dr. Greenleaf also provides orthopedic support at the Nike Sports Medicine clinic and local high schools. In his leisure time, he enjoys fly fishing, mountain biking, and rock climbing.

KIM CONTRERAS

Kim was born in the Midwest. She graduated from Loma Linda University with a FS in Occupational Therapy. She has 25 years of experience working with hand trauma, splint and sports medicine.

LYNWOOD SHANNON

Mr. Shannon is a certified Physician Assistant who was with our practice from 2001 - 2004 and returned in 2007 after working for three years in North Carolina. His main orthopedic interest is in sports medicine, as well as treating knee arthritis.

Richard H. Edelson

Richard Edelson, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with the team at Sports Medicine Oregon in Wilsonville and Tigard, Oregon, who is fellowship-trained in sports medicine. His practice includes a wide range of care and treatment for sports medicine injuries in athletes of all ages with a focus on arthroscopic surgery of knees and shoulders. Dr. Edelson went to Stanford University for his undergraduate degree. He then graduated with both his medical degree and master's degree in pathology from Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland. Dr. Edelson completed his surgical internship and orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Utah Medical Center and Affiliated Hospitals in Salt Lake. To round out his training, he pursued a sports medicine fellowship at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio. His hospital affiliations include Oregon Outpatient Surgery Center, Meridian Park Hospital, Providence St. Vincent Hospital, Providence Willamette Falls Hospital, and Northwest Ambulatory Surgical Center. Currently, Dr. Edelson is a team physician for the Portland Timbers professional soccer team and an orthopedic consultant for the Portland Thorns. He also provides orthopedic care for the Nike Sports Medicine Clinic and local area high schools. A past president of the Oregon Chapter of the Western Orthopedic Society, he has also been twice named the Oregon Ambulatory Surgery Center Association Medical Leader of the Year. He is also the founder and Director of the Saving our Veterans Program and the Organizer and Director of "Passion 2 Play," a youth injury prevention program. He has lectured nationally and internationally on sports medicine and health policy topics. For recreation, he enjoys golf, skiing, and working out. He and his wife, Jill, have three children.

RYAN LUSCOMBE

Ms. Cameron is a certified Physician Assistant and retired Athletic Trainer who has been with our practice since 2005. Although she has experience in general orthopedics, her main emphasis has been on sports medicine.

Stephen M. Schroeder

Stephen Schroeder, DPM, FACS, is an experienced orthopedic surgeon with the team at Sports Medicine Oregon, serving patients in Wilsonville and Tigard, Oregon. Dr. Schroeder is board certified in reconstructive rearfoot, ankle surgery, and foot surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association. Dr. Schroeder completed his undergraduate degree at California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, California, and his medical degree at the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco, California. He received training in reconstructive podiatric foot and ankle surgery at Yale-New Haven Hospital in Connecticut. As a result of his specialized training, Dr. Schroeder also treats pediatric patients of all types. He is experienced in congenital problems, including club feet, in-toeing, flat feet, and toe walking, as well as cartilege restoration and flat foot deformities. Child athletes face specific challenges, and Dr. Schroeder is understanding and skilled in dealing with their concerns. Dr. Schroeder believes in personalizing his approach to each patient in order to achieve a full and early return to activities and function. He utilizes appropriate intervention and emphasizes education, involving the patient in the decision-making, treatment, and healing process. In addition to treating general foot and ankle problems, Dr. Schroeder has a special interest in treating sports-related injuries, complex limb deformity, chronic pain from arthritic conditions, and limb-threatening diseases associated with diabetes. He offers the latest advanced arthroscopic procedures and total ankle replacement for arthritis of the ankle. Dr. Schroeder was one of the first surgeons in the Portland Metro area to be approved to use the most modern and advanced ankle replacement system in the United States, STARâ„¢. Dr. Schroeder is affiliated with Oregon Outpatient Surgery Center, Meridian Park Hospital, Providence Willamette Falls Hospital, Northwest Ambulatory Surgical Center, and Southwest Washington Medical Center. Tim Beals

Tim Beals, DO is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip arthroscopy, anterior hip replacement, knee and shoulder replacement, and sports medicine. He completed his fellowship in advanced hip preservation and reconstruction at the world-renowned Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colorado. Dr Beals has a special research interest in the treatment of pre-arthritic hip conditions, including dysplasia. He has presented at national conferences and has published on the subject in top orthopedic journals. His dedication to high quality research has resulted in his placement on the editorial boards of The Journal of Arthroplasty and The Journal of the American Osteopathic Association of Orthopedics. As a Clinical Preceptor for Western University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr Beals is excited to help in the education of the area's future physicians. Tim is further dedicated to service in the local and national medical community and sits on the Board of Directors for Osteopathic Physician and Surgeons of Oregon; he is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the American Osteopathic Association. Dr Beals enjoys treating athletes of all ages and working to get his patients back to their activities. He has worked with Team USA Track and Field, Team USA Ski and Snowboard, Auburn University, and is a proud member of Sports Medicine Oregon's care of the Portland Timbers and Thorns. Tim and his wife are happy to call Portland home as they raise their young family.

VALERIE J. NIPPER
