SOUTHGATE DENTISTRY - Key Persons
Dr. Jacquelyn Scott was born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She attended Acadia University and received her Bachelor of Science with Honours in 2009. She was then accepted to Dalhousie University where she graduated with her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2013.
Dr. Scott began her career practicing in London, Ontario at a private dental clinic, as well as serving as a clinical instructor at the Western University Faculty of Dentistry for five years. Following her time in Ontario, she was then able to gain international dental experience as she worked in Adelaide Australia for one year. Dr. Scott has a strong family connection to dentistry and is in fact Dr. MacPherson's cousin. She is excited to start serving patients in the Bedford Community at Southgate Dentistry.
Dr. Scott has had the opportunity to work with a wide range of patients with varying oral health care needs. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and believes in building trusting relationships with her patients in order to help them achieve and maintain their oral health goals.
Outside of the dentistry, Dr. Scott enjoys spending time with her husband and two young boys. She is an avid runner and enjoys travelling and reading.

Dr. MacPherson was born and raised in Halifax, NS. Before obtaining her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Dalhousie (2008), Paula graduated with a BSc in Biology from St. FX University (2004).
Dr. Paula comes from a long line of dentists! Her grandfather (Dinny Morrison) practiced dentistry in Nova Scotia from 1956-1990. Her father, Archie Morrison, is an oral surgeon in Halifax and also treats patients at Southgate Dentistry. Two of Paula's sisters, Trish Brady and Teresa Burns are also dentists practicing in Halifax.
Paula is a friendly and down to earth dentist who is committed to addressing her patients' concerns. She has a special talent for making appointments a lot more enjoyable than most are expecting!
When away from her role at Southgate Dentistry, Paula can be found, along with her husband Daryl, performing their other job as parents to their 4 young kids!
Southgate Dentistry and Dr. MacPherson, are pleased to welcome Dr. Paula's father, Archie Morrison to the team! Though Dr. Morrison probably needs no introduction, he was trained in Dentistry at Dalhousie University, worked in private practice for several years, and then completed his OMFS residency and Masters of Science in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery again at Dalhousie in 1992. He went on to do advanced fellowship training in Glasgow, Scotland before returning to the faculty of Dentistry at Dalhousie and the Dept. of OMFS at the VG Hospital. After 20 years working at the VG, Archie is now working part time at Southgate.
Dr. Morrison has maintained a broad scope of practice, including implants, trauma, TMJ surgery, orthognathic surgery, and pathology, among other interests. He has been active over the years in research and extensively involved in organized dentistry, particularly in the field of OMFS at the national level. He has participated in numerous charity missions overseas primarily to treat patients with cleft lip and palate.
