Today, there are some excellent factory-made guitars on the market. They are, for the most part, predictable in sound and performance. But these instruments are, by necessity, built with a consistency that precludes any compensation for the many inconsistencies inherent in the materials used to build fine guitars. They are built to a common denominator to ensure consistency, predictability, and longevity - a compromise at best. And the customer's choices are restricted to whatever models they offer.
