SUPERTHENE

In 1987 the directors and owners of Superthene pioneered the development of the first Polyethylene based cling film in South Africa under the name of Sanwyn Enterprises. They produced PE cling film for Glad which was the first domestic PE cling film to be sold in retail shops in SA. After Glad started to produce their own film a few years later, Sanwyn entered the market in opposition and started supplying virtually all the major retail group's house brands nationally. Today, Sanwyn is the biggest supplier of PE cling film in the SA domestic retail environment and operates under the Tuffy banner.
