Adrian Damasco

Coach Adrian comes to SSAN with 16 years of coaching experience and competitive excellence. Adrian has coached small, medium, and large market teams. He has found success working with the entire program from bottom to top at every team he has participated in. Coach Adrian has developed over 100 top ten nationally ranked swimmers during his coaching career. Coach Adrian has led numerous programs to club excellence status (Gold, Silver, and Bronze). Before joining SSAN, Coach Adrian was the head coach & head age group coach years previous at Austin Swim Club, where he developed Olympic trials, junior national, futures, sectionals, all-Americans, and tags qualifiers. In addition, while with Austin Swim Club was selected as Head Coach at USA Swimming's Diversity & Inclusion Regional Select Camp and Assistant Coach at USA Swimming's Diversity & Inclusion National Select Camp. Coach Adrian was also an assistant coach at Blue Tide Aquatics in Houston, coaching their National Prep/Senior Group and assisting with their National Group under Andy Korda's guidance. Coach Adrian played an integral part in reformatting the entire program. Before that, he spent four years as Los Angeles Swim Club's Associate Head Coach, where he developed numerous Junior National, Future, and Sectional qualifiers. Coach Adrian was the lead coach of their best 11 to 14-year-olds in which swimmers routinely placed top ten in the country as age groupers & assisted with their top senior group helping guide numerous athletes to all-American status. In addition, he was the varsity assistant head coach for Harvard-Westlake. Many of these swimmers went on to compete at multiple colleges around the country, mainly funneling into the Ivy League. While at LASC, Coach Adrian was selected to numerous USA Swimming National Select Camps and SoCal All-Stars Meets. He also served as the Age Group Representative on the Socal LSC governing body. Coach Adrian started his club coaching career at Nitro Swimming, serving four years as their head age group coach. He was an integral part of their age group program, winning 11 tags team titles in a row. While at Nitro, Adrian coached their top ten and under group, was the lead coach of their Senior Group, and assisted with various age groups. While at Nitro, he coached numerous #1 age group times in the country as individuals and relays. Before entering the club swimming world, Coach Adrian was head coach at two large summer league teams in Austin. This phase was essential to getting where he is now as he learned to be a "zoo keeper" with age group-level athletes. When Coach Adrian is away from the pool, he enjoys traveling, cooking/bbqing at home, and playing disc golf in his free time. Coach Adrian is a technique-first driven coach who believes in creating a safe, fun, competitive environment for his athletes. With a balanced season plan written every season, Coach Adrian believes every swimmer can reach their goals with daily consistent action and a process-driven mindset towards their goals.

Calista Hughes

Calista Hughes started competitively swimming when she was 8 years old. Calista joined SSAN in 2011 and had many successes. Her best events were the 200 and 100 butterfly. She also swam for the Northampton Cudas and became a record breaker. Calista swam in high school for Klein Cain as part of the inaugural swim team. She set the 100 fly record and lettered in 100 fly, 200 IM, 200 free relay, and 200 Medley relay. Calista currently swims for the Woodlands Masters Swim Team. She coaches the Windrose Stingrays in the summer and with SSAN primarily with the Sharks & Homeschool groups. Currently Calista attends Lone Star College in hopes to become a therapist. In her free time she enjoys being a dog mom to her wonderful pit bull Molly, watching movies, and swimming.

Jocelin Damasco

Proudly raised in Midland, TX, Jocelin began her competitive swimming career at the age of 5 and continued through college at the University of Nevada, Reno. While attending UNR, Coach Jocelin achieved multiple All-Conference academic honors and represented the Wolf Pack at conference championship meets all 4 years. In May of 2015, she graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast Journalism and made her way back to Midland to pursue a career with her degree. Over the next 8 years, Coach Jocelin combined her passion for swimming and journalism into one career. During her first year as a coach at COM Aquatics, she assisted a 11-12 year old group at the TAGS level and as the Media Coordinator for the team. From 2016-2018 at KATY Aquatics, she would coach developmental athletes in the age group program as well as high school level & national level senior athletes. In addition to her coaching, she also had the opportunity to assist as a Media Coordinator for the team with social media platforms during meets and local events. From Houston, Coach Jocelin traveled to Los Angeles in 2018 to join the staff at Westside Aquatics. Over the next year, she coached two developmental senior groups and was part of the Palisades Charter High School Swim Team coaching staff in the Pacific Palisades. In August of 2019, Coach Jocelin headed back to Texas to coach for Waterloo Swimming. During her time on deck, she served as an assistant coach, swim lesson instructor and deck manager which allowed her to teach a wide range of swimmers in swim lessons programing and on the swim team. In April of 2020, she was promoted to the lead coach position for the Bronze 2 group and worked to continue to improve technique as well as endurance for 8-12 year olds at that level. As Coach Jocelin's career continued, she found herself yet again in Houston, TX coaching for Blue Tide Aquatics. During the next 2 years, from 2020-2022, she was a lead coach for 12 & under age group swimmers in the Red & Silver groups while also working as the team's Social Media Coordinator. Between both groups, Coach Jocelin helped athletes achieve their first B time to A times in their respective age categories at local competitions. Shortly after getting married in April of 2022, she & her husband returned to South Texas to work with Austin Swim Club. During her tenure as the Head Developmental Coach & Social Media Coordinator throughout the past year at ASC, Coach Jocelin has continued her work with athletes ranging 5-13 in age just entering club swimming for the first time and those focused on achieving cuts for next level meets. In addition to working with ASC athletes, she was the Head Coach for St. Andrews Private High School Team for the 2022-2023 season where they finished 5th overall at the SPC Championship Meet. Following both the High School & Short Course Seasons, Coach Jocelin had her very first individual TAGS qualifier during the 2023 Long Course Season. Coach Jocelin is overjoyed to be joining the SSAN Staff & Family very soon. When she is off the pool deck, she enjoys gardening, photography, all things Disney, spending time with her family (especially her 2 cats - Nacho & Beethoven) and exploring new food destinations with her husband.

Kristin Nates

Kristin started swimming when she was 9, swam summer league until she was 18, was a walk-on at the University of Nevada, Reno(Elem Ed/Phys Ed), and coached her hometown swim team for seven summers. She moved to Houston in 1998 to work for Continental Airlines(United Airlines) as a Flight Attendant. In 2007 Kristin joined the Woodlands Masters Swim Team where she met Coach Ross and Coach Laura. She is married to her husband Brad and they live in Montgomery. TX Kristin joined Swim Streamline in the fall of 2020 and is an assistant coach for the Developmental group.

Laura Koch Davis

Coach Laura started competitive swimming at age 10 in Sugar Land, was a High School All-American in 1994, and went on to earn an academic/athletic scholarship to attend Iona College in New Rochelle, NY. While at Iona she set 9 individual school records, was 3- time team captain for swimming and 2-time team captain for water polo, won Most Valuable and Most Dedicated honors throughout her collegiate career, named MAAC Conference Champ, and All-Academic Water polo 1999. She graduated from Iona in 1998 with a B.A. in History. In 2012, she was inducted into the Iona College Goal Club Hall of Fame for her athletic accomplishments throughout her collegiate career. She started her coaching career while in college for summer league teams and has worked with many USA, USMS, and Summer league teams in New York and Texas since 1994. In 2006, she started her own USA team in Austin, and helped her swimmers obtain STAGS and TAGS. She moved to Houston in April of 2008 to coach the summer league team The Northampton Cudas, the Masters program- WMST, and later started Swim Streamline at Northampton. Laura joined WMST in 2006 and has been active in Masters swimming since 2002. She is ranked Top Ten nationally and FINA in numerous events, named All-American 2003-2015. She has been busy in volunteer work throughout the years. She was the Vice President of WMST for 3 years and served as Coach Representative. She has served as a delegate for the Marketing, Rules, and Long Distance committees in USMS.In Gulf Swimming she served a term on the Board of review, and is finished 2 terms as Age Group Vice Chair for Gulf Swimming. In summer league, she serves on the Northampton Cuda Board. Currently, she is coaching her 15th year as Head Coach/ Co- Owner of SSAN. In October 2018, she was named Gulf Age Group Coach of the Year! SSAN has already had some exciting events happen in our team history numerous top 3 finishes at 8 & under, Fall, Senior, Gulf Age Group Summer & Spring champs, TAGS record holder, LSC record breakers, numerous USA Swimming National Age Group Top 10 & World 100 athletes, High Point TAGS, Numerous Collegiate swimmers, Junior & Senior National qualiers, 8th Place at 2018 SC & LC TAGS - Many top 10 finishes ,9th Place at 2023LC NCSA - Highest finish to date, 28th Place at 2018 LC NCSA - Highest finish to date, 4th Place at 2017 SC Age Group Champs - Highest finish to date, Team Spirit Award 2017 SC Age Group Champs Groups Champs - First time to win award, 2nd Place at 2018 LC Age Group Champs - Highest finish to date, Multiple National Top 20 SC & LC swims. She has coached 16 seasons as Head Coach with the Northampton Cudas in which she lead them to several Division 1 winning seasons (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2018)! In the past 6 years, Laura & Ross have helped lead our athletes to significant success. We are so proud of our student athletes!

Ross Davis

Coach Ross Davis was born in Fremont, CA but grew up South of Pittsburgh in Uniontown, PA. He was a walk on at Clarion University of Pennsylvania, but earned a spot on the State Conference Team his first year in 100/200 backstroke and 200/400IM. Granted a scholarship his sophomore year but missing National qualifying in the same events, was asked to swim 200 Butterfly his junior year. He qualified for Nationals just 4 months later in the new event and went on to earn NCAA All American Honors 8 times; while setting school records in the 200 Free, 200 Fly, 200IM and 800 Free Relay. He competed as an Open Water Lifeguard, winning Maine's Iron Guard event 4 times. He was honored as Maine's Most Valuable Lifeguard in 1989. Graduating from Clarion in 1989, with a BSBA in Accounting, Coach Ross entered the sales field with a Nikon Instrument dealer in Georgia and was later hired by Nikon in Dallas. He excelled in sales and was promoted to Industrial Sales Manager during his tenure. He formed his own company in 2001 specializing in microscope sales and service and worked as Production Manager for Komak Manufacturing before coming back to the swimming world as a part time coach for WMST, the Northampton Cudas, and SSAN. Ross joined WMST in 2006 and has been active in Masters swimming since 1993. He has been ranked Top Ten Nationally in the 50/100/200/400/500 Free, 50/100/200 Fly, 50/100/200 Back, 100/200/400 I.M., open water swimming and 1 hour postal. Coach Ross recorded South Texas Masters Zone records in the 100/200 Fly, 50/100/200 Back, 50/100/200 Free and 200/400IM. He has achieved All American Masters status over the past 10 years, achieved many National Titles, broke 2 World records and National records. He was an Assistant Coach of the Northampton Cudas for 8 seasons helping lead them to a 2012, 2013, 2014 C-1 Division Championship! He is currently is in his 10th year at SSAN as Senior Coach/Co-Owner and is looking forward to the 2019 season! Coach Ross tries to lead by example by building strong positive habits and fundamentals, which will not only help a swimmer swim faster but build self-confidence for the future. He believes, "The mirror does not reflect truth or potential, only your perception" which he hopes young swimmers realize that if they think and train like a champion every chance they get, they can become one.
