Brett Bachmann has served as Heuser Hearing Institute's CEO since 2013. He received his Bachelor of Arts from San Diego State University, his Juris Doctorate from Pepperdine University School of Law and his Master of Laws from The Strauss Institute of Dispute Resolution at the Pepperdine School of Law. He also studied international mediation in London and The Hague and received his certificate from The Geoffrey H. Palmer Center for Entrepreneurship and the Law.
Before joining the HHI team, he founded a law firm specializing in education law in Los Angeles, litigated pro bono cases as the Associate Director of Pepperdine's Special Education Law Clinic, co-founded the Louisville Film Arts Institute and established its relationship with Jefferson County Public Schools, and founded the International Commission of Peace (ICOP), a non-profit organization that provides alternative dispute resolution training to prevent war-torn countries from relapsing into wide-spread violence.
Since coming to HHI, Brett has overseen the doubling of the size of the Heuser Hearing and Language Academy and created a unique program where the school's deaf and hard of hearing students learn alongside their hearing peers, creating a richer educational experience. He has also focused on expanding HHI's reach as Louisville's only nonprofit hearing center with the expansion to five clinic locations in Louisville and Southern Indiana and increasing the number of patients treated.

Brittany served as a public special education teacher and coach for eight years before joining Heuser in 2023. She began her career as a Special Education Instructional Assistant, then later obtained her master's degree in Learning and Behavior Disabilities (Kindergarten-12th grade). Brittany currently serves as the Special Education Teacher for Heuser Hearing Language Academy.

Carlisa D. Weatherspoon holds an Associate of Applied Science in Health Science degree and is nationally registered as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). She has also dedicated the past 10 years of her career to serving as a medic in the U.S. Army.
In addition to her role as a medic, Carlisa serves as a Department of Defense Sexual Assault Advocate. Recently recognized for her contributions, she was nominated as the SHARP Victim Advocate of the year for the Army's MRC-East region.
Driven by a passion for helping others, Carlisa believes in the transformative power of a smile for her patients. She believes a simple smile can make a significant difference in their day. Beyond her professional achievements, Carlisa finds fulfillment in her role as a spouse and parent. Married for 11 years, she is the proud mother of three beautiful children, aged 16, 14 and 7.

Challen Geraghty obtained her bachelor's degree in speech pathology and audiology from Kent State University, where she also competed in collegiate D1 volleyball. She earned her Doctor of Audiology from Northeast Ohio Au.D. Consortium (NOAC). Challen began working at Heuser Hearing Institute in May 2021 during her residency. She was born and raised in Louisville and is excited to be back home to work in her community. Her interests include adult diagnosis, hearing aids and cochlear implants.

Ms. Dorie has worked in early childhood education for more than 30 years. She received her associate's degree from JCC and her Bachelor of Science from Campbellsburg University. Dorie has been with JCPS since 2013. She is honored to be the teacher of the Jump Start class of 3 to 4 year olds at Heuser Hearing and Language Academy. Dorie has had a lifelong desire to teach, following in the footsteps of her mother and big brother. She enjoys teaching at Heuser for many reasons, the main being that she is able to work as a part of a team. A team that shares her passion for education and giving children the tools they need as they begin their academic career.

Doug initiated his professional journey in the mid-80s with the Commission for Children, where he laid the foundation for his career. Following this, he assumed the role of audiologist for Appalachian Regional Healthcare in Harlan County, dedicating approximately 15 years to this position. Subsequently, Doug transitioned to a private practice in Pikeville, contributing five years to furthering his expertise. Later, he embarked on a new venture by establishing the Sam's Club Hearing Center in Lexington, where he played a pivotal role for three years. Following this endeavor, Doug returned to his private practice for an additional two years before taking charge of Costco Hearing Center for a notable five-year period. He then transitioned to an ENT office in Winchester, where he dedicated three more years to advancing his skills.

Dr. Angie Beach completed her master's degree in audiology at the University of Louisville in 1999 and her Doctor of Audiology from A.T. Still University in 2012. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is licensed to practice audiology in Kentucky and Indiana as well as work as a hearing instrument specialist in Kentucky. Prior to working at Heuser Hearing Institute, she worked in the private practice setting primarily with adults with hearing and balance issues. Angie joined the Heuser Hearing Institute team in 2006 and works with both the pediatric and adult populations.

Dr. Devon Woodlee joined Heuser Hearing Institute in July 2022. She is a retired public school administrator with 27 years of experience in education.
