Dr. Nicholas E. Takach is an Emeritus Professor of Chemistry at The University of Tulsa. He received his B.S. degree in Chemistry from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, Calif. campus; and a Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Nevada - Reno. Dr. Takach joined TUDRP in 1996 and became Senior Associate Director in January, 2002. His main research interests include the properties of drilling and completion fluids for oil and gas wells. Dr. Takach has published in both chemistry and petroleum-related journals, and has given presentations in both areas at national and international conferences. Dr. Takach is a member of SPE.

Dr. Silvio Baldino

Dr. Silvio Baldino joined The University of Tulsa (TU) as an Assistant Professor in 2022. He brings industry experience (Shell and Cognite AS) in optimization and digitalization for real-time drilling operations and data-driven solutions leveraging historical data for drilling and completions. He holds BSc and MSc degrees in energy engineering from the Polytechnic University of Milan, Italy, and a PhD degree in petroleum engineering from The University of Tulsa.

Eric Wang

Eric Wang is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Petroleum Engineering under TUDRP and MS student in Business Analytics at the University of Tulsa. Before that, he earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Tulsa. His doctoral work is related to data analytics on drilling engineering, particularly early kick detection using real-time drilling data. Focusing on applying state-of-the-art artificial intelligence technology to ‘big data' in drilling engineering, his work is highly relevant to some hot topics in the industry. He is an expert in cutting-edge machine learning and deep learning algorithms and is proficient in many common programming languages. Meanwhile, as a master's student in Business Analytics, Eric is skillful at the work of a data scientist, providing business and engineering insights through data analysis. Eric interned with the Landmark team, Halliburton in Houston in Summer 2021 working as a drilling optimization software developer. Eric currently lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and uses his free time to work out, travel, invest and work on PC projects.

Evren M. Ozbayoglu is currently a "Jonathan Detwiler Chair" full Professor of The University of Tulsa (TU), Petroleum Engineering Department, and the Director of The University of Tulsa, Drilling Research Projects (TUDRP). He has earned his BSc in 1996 and MSc in 1998 from METU. He earned his PhD degree from The University of Tulsa in 2002. He started working at METU as a full time faculty, and continued working at METU till 2009 August. Since then, he is working for TU. Dr. Ozbayoglu has numerous publications (more than 200 peer reviewed journal papers and conference papers, chapter in SPE Textbook Series - Fundamentals of Drilling Engineering - ISBN: 978-1555632076, and one of the authors of Drilling Engineering: Advanced Applications and Technology - ISBN: 978-1259643743) and participated in several industrial projects on major drilling engineering topics. His research interests include non-Newtonian fluid flow, multiphase fluid flow, underbalanced drilling, hole cleaning, tubular mechanics, horizontal & directional drilling, data analytics, optimization, automation and computational fluid dynamics. He was awarded for "Outstanding Technical Editor Award" for SPE Journal, SPE Reservoir Application & Engineering, and SPE Drilling & Completion for years 2012, 2013, 2015, 2018, 2019, and 2021, "SPE Regional Distinguished Faculty Award - Mid-Continent Region - 2013" within 2012-2013 academic year, SPE Regional Drilling Engineer Award in 2019, and SPE Distinguished Membership Award in 2020. He is an SPE member since 1994, and ASME member since 2015.

Stefan Z. Miska is an Emeritus Professor of McDougall School of Petroleum Engineering and Emeritus Director of Tulsa University Drilling Research Projects (TUDRP) at The University of Tulsa (TU). He obtained his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Mining and Metallurgy in Cracow, Poland. Recently, he was awarded the title of Professor of Technical Sciences by the President of Poland. Over the years, he has taught at his Alma Mater, at the Norwegian Institute of Technology and New Mexico Tech. In 1992 he joined TU as Chair of its P.E. Department. Miska has published over 170 technical papers and contributed to several books. He was involved in the successful design and development of a downhole, turbine-type motor for air drilling and has been instrumental in development of research facilities for wellbore hydraulics at simulated downhole conditions. He has also made contributions to the development of new buckling concepts and the axial force transfer in extended reach drilling. His current research interests are focused on wellbore hydraulics, mechanics of tubulars and directional drilling. He is involved with the SPE in many ways; he has served as Technical Editor for Drilling and Completion and is a member of the Drilling and Completion Advisory Committee. He has been the recipient of two SPE international awards: the 2000 Distinguished Petroleum Engineering Faculty Award recognizing his many years in academia and the 2004 Drilling Engineering Award. He is also an SPE Distinguished Member. He has received 2018 SPE and AIME Honorary Membership Awards.
