The MARC researcher Mr. Cheng Ling received the 2015 Grant Shaw Memorial Scholarship from Illinois Association of Highway Engineers in the past summer. Mr. Cheng Ling joined MARC in January 2012 and was initially involved in the asphalt emulsion and cold mix asphalt research as part of Asphalt Research Consortium (ARC). In that research he evaluated the coating and bonding properties of cold mix asphalt (CMA) and their relationship to the moisture susceptibility of CMA. He also developed a mix design protocol and volumetric analysis procedures for CMA. He obtained his second Master's degree on this research and proceeded to his PhD research focused on "Importance of Binder Modification Type and Aggregate Structure on Rutting Resistance of Asphalt Mixtures Using Image-based Multi-scale Modeling". He's currently also involved several research projects on asphalt binder characterization and asphalt mixture performances... The former MARC researcher Sebastian Puchalski who's currently..
