Founder Member and the Board Chair of Women 4 Cancer Early Detection and Treatment. She is also the Board Chair of Kenyan Network of Cancer Organizations, the national umbrella body of cancer civil society organizations active in various aspects of cancer control. Catherine is a legal practitioner and has been a passionate cancer advocate for over 9 years pushed by the call that a unified approach to cancer control will help in the fight against cancer in Kenya. Catherine's dream is a Kenya where quality cancer treatment is accessible and affordable to every Kenyan irrespective of their financial circumstances. Closer to home, Catherine is committed to see that the work of Women 4 Cancer will contribute to the WHO's global strategy to eliminate cervical cancer by the year 2030.

Constance Okoth

Constance is a Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse. She has worked as a nurse for the Ministry of Health both at District and National levels before moving to private and non-profit sector. Currently, Constance runs a clinic in Kibra Sub-county in the heart of the Kibra slums, one of the biggest informal urban settlements in the world, rendering both preventive and curative services including child immunization, ante-natal care, family planning, safe delivery and cervical cancer screening. Working with Women 4 Cancer over several years as a volunteer nurse is one of her best experiences. Women 4 Cancer makes it possible for her to provide essential cervical cancer screening to underprivileged women in Kenya. She is excited to contribute in her own way, towards the elimination of cervical cancer.

Dr. Angela Kairu

Dr. Kairu is a health economist at KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Programme Nairobi, Kenya. She has previously served as a medical doctor within the public and private health sectors in Kenya. She has been involved in various projects on economic evaluations of healthcare interventions/programs, health care financing and health systems research and priority setting in healthcare. Her on-going work and expertise have seen her work closely with senior officials at the national and county levels, and health economic experts from international institutions. Angela holds a Masters of Public Health - Health Economics from University of Cape Town in South Africa, Master of Business Administration- Health Management & Leadership from United States International University in Kenya, and a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from Kampala International University in Uganda. Her broad work interests are in improving resource use and health system functions, and to contribute towards evidence-based health financing strategies and solutions. Dr. Angela is passionate in ensuring that all Kenyans have equitable and affordable access to quality healthcare.

Dr. Eric Hungu

Dr. Hungu is a surgeon based at Kenyatta National Hospital, the biggest referral hospital in East Africa. He runs a reputable breast clinic at the hospital. He undertook a one-year sub-specialty training in Breast and Endocrine Surgery at The University of Cape Town in 2017. He has been involved in the drafting of National Cancer Screening Guidelines and National Cancer Treatment Protocols as an advisor to the Ministry of Health, under the National Cancer Control Programme (NCCP). He also serves in the Surgical Society of Kenya National Council having served in various capacities since 2011. Dr. Hungu completed his Masters training in General Surgery at The University of Nairobi in 2011. Subsequently, he was posted to Lodwar where he worked for one year as the District Surgeon: the only surgeon between South Sudan and Eldoret. During this period, he was on the panel of the AMREF Flying Doctors where he would carry out week long surgical outreach initiatives in the remote areas that have no access to surgeons; Hospitals he visited during this stint include Hola, Mpeketoni, and Mandera. He was later transferred to Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital in Kayole, where he worked for a year before he was employed at the Kenyatta National Hospital, as a Medical Specialist. He completed his undergraduate training at the University of Nairobi in 2003, and worked as an intern at Nyeri PGH, prior to his posting to Maralal, in Samburu County as a Medical Officer.

Dr. Njoki Njiraini - Founder

Dr. Njiraini is a practising Consultant Clinical Oncologist who is passionate on matters oncology ranging from screening, standardization of staging, patient access to care and auditing of clinical outcomes.

Dr. Sitna Ali Mwanzi

Dr. Sitna Ali Mwanzi is a consultant medical oncologist working at the Kenyatta National Hospital in Nairobi Kenya. She obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Nairobi and Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine from the Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi. She undertook a fellowship in Medical Oncology at Barts Health NHS Trust in the United Kingdom attaining a Specialist Certificate in Medical Oncology from the Royal College of Physicians and Association of Cancer Physicians in the United Kingdom. She also has a Master of Science in Advanced Oncology from Ulm University in Germany. Her research interests include breast cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer, chronic myeloid leukemia and cervical cancer. She is passionate about increasing health care workers and general public awareness about cancer, role of screening, early diagnosis and treatment of cancer. She works closely with the National Cancer Control Program in implementation of the National Cancer Control Strategy and advising on cancer policy for improving access to cancer care.

Eng Evans M Kinyua

Eng Evans M Kinyua is a Consultant engineer in the field of civil engineering. He is a founding partner and current Managing Director of Witts Engineering's Consultancy Ltd. He has served the church in various positions and is currently a church Elder. Evans is also married and a father to Three young adults.

Josephine Omwenga

Josephine Kemunto Omwenga-Arasa is an LLB graduate with a Diploma from the School of Law. She stands for "PEACE" and is a dedicated human rights Defender. She is married to 1 husband and is a mother of 3 beautiful daughters. She believes in a just society where the weak, less privileged must receive equality and equitable to the Rule of Law. Most importantly, she is a Human Rights defender and is currently a board member for East African Women Lawyers, an Organization which protects the intersex persons with a view to gain access to justice and have a right to be heard. She was appointed by the current Chief Justice to seat in a special committee of NCAJ. She served as a Board Member of New Kenya Planters Cooperation Union (NKPCU) and served as a Board Member (Council) Member at the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ)(K). Josephine dislikes the current situation where girls are being murdered and no one has raised a voice to "STOP THE VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN". She currently practices law in the name and style of Omwenga - Arasa and Company Advocates. Her many years of practice as a Lawyer and a human rights defender have taught her humility and selflessness. She is humbled to be associated as an active member of; LSK, ICJ (K), FIDA(K), COVAW, EAWLA (East African Women Lawyers Association). A Board member of New Kenya Planters Cooperative Union (NKPCU), Child Welfare Society of Kenya and above all a Mediator.

Kevina Nyambura

Kevina has 15 years' experience as a HR Professional. She brings experience in managing especially small teams. She will add value to the HR function at Women 4 Cancer by playing an advisory role on all matters that touch on the people resource. This includes recruitment, role structuring, team engagement, exits and matters arising. Kevina is passionate about managing and developing people.

Laureen Gibson

Laureen Gibson, also known as L.G is a passionate philanthropist with a background in sales & marketing. I joined Women 4 Cancer after a friend who is one of the founders invited me to one of their events and that was the beginning of my passion. Since then, I have been actively involved in organizing fundraising events and medical camps.

Liz Mbuthia - Founder

Liz Mbuthia is a nurse by profession with a passion for the next generation and to eliminate cervical cancer. She has training and vast experience in dealing with children and women's health issues as well as palliative care training. She lost her aunt to cervical cancer and this triggered her urge to eliminate cervical cancer through HPV vaccine, screening and treatment. She believes that if by our efforts we can save even 1 life, then she would have fulfilled her purpose. Liz is a mother of three power puff girls, an aunt to many and would love to see them live their life full free of cervical cancer.

Nelly Njaga

Nelly is a Water Engineer by profession and an Entrepreneur who is passionate about the environment and the elimination of cervical cancer. Having lost her sister to cervical cancer, Nelly is a keen advocate for the early detection and treatment of the disease. Cervical cancer is a preventable disease and curable if detected early and adequately treated. An avid golfer, she has taken part in several golf tournaments and participated in walks to help raise necessary funds towards the screening of women in Kenya. She foresees a Kenya free of cervical cancer, in line with WHO‘s Global Strategy to Accelerate the Elimination of Cervical Cancer. Nelly is a mother of two gorgeous girls.

Raphael Kinuthia

Raphael Kinuthia Mburu, is a Clinical Cytologist and Epidemiologist, a graduate of Kenyatta University, University of Nairobi and JKUAT Institute of Tropical Medicine and Infectious Diseases. He is a member of International Epidemiology Association (IEA) and Society of Clinical Cytologists Kenya (SCCK). He has been a crusader of early screening and detection in prevention of cancers for over 20 years and has research interest in cervical cancer. He is currently the Program Manager, Catholic Health Commission of Kenya. Formerly Projects Coordinator and a teacher of Epidemiology at Kenyatta University School of Medicine and School of Public health.

Washuka Njogeri

Washuka is a finance professional with over 15 years' progressive work experience with International Non-Governmental organizations (NGOs) within the East, West and South African regions. A specialist in development of strategic systems, procedures and implementation to improve efficiency. Her expertise is in sustainable capacity development of local NGO'S and Community based organizations (CBO's). She has hands on experience with major donor requirements such as DFID, EU, SIDA, EC, USAID and various Trusts & foundations. She is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and holds a Managerial level certificate for Certified Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). Her other qualifications include; Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in Entrepreneurship from Strathmore Business school, Certificate for Pan African EMBA from IESE Business school (Spain) and a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance.
