WOPEC remains the only dedicated optometry postgraduate education centre in the world, and is based in Cardiff University's School of Optometry and Vision Sciences... At WOPEC, we have a dedicated team of outstanding people. All LOCSU Lead Assessors are trained and accredited by WOPEC. They organise and manage local events and assessments for optometrists throughout the UK. For example, Minor Eye Conditions Services (MECS) and glaucoma assessments. WOPEC has an extensive postgraduate taught programme of study. Each module has a Leader who is an expert in their field of study... Since its inception, WOPEC has attracted business in England (from Local Optical Committees, Commissioning Groups and the LOC Support Unit) and it has developed a portfolio of popular practical skills based courses.
