A. Michelle Campbell

Michelle Campbell has practiced in both the public and private sectors as a trial attorney. Ms. Campbell commenced her trial experience representing adults and juveniles in criminal matters as an assistant public defender in Philadelphia. She currently represents adult and juvenile clients in both state and federal criminal proceedings. Her areas of practice also include family matters, including divorce, child support and custody; employment litigation, and wills and trusts. Ms. Campbell has volunteered for indigent clients in immigration and real estate matters. Ms. Campbell was a law clerk for Justice H. DuPont Ridgely when he served as President Judge of the Delaware Superior Court. She has also served as a clerk for Judge Linda Caracappa, U.S. Magistrate Judge for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Prior to practicing law, Ms. Campbell was an elementary school teacher in Micronesia. She is a founder of Independence Charter School (www.independentcharter.org) a bi-lingual elementary school, and served as both a former board member and vice president. She has volunteered for Action Aids and the Monteverde Conservation League in Costa Rica. Ms. Campbell received a B.S. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from the University of Virginia Law School.

Colleen Williams

Colleen Williams is a certified public accountant and currently serves as a partner in the accounting and auditing department of McGladrey & Pullen, LLP. She has been with the Firm since 1980 (formerly Rudolph, Palitz LLC), specializes in the public sector industry, and is the Lead Public Sector Industry Specialist Partner within the Philadelphia Economic Unit of McGladrey. Ms. Williams is a Certified Public Accountant and a graduate of Bloomsburg University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Ms. Williams performs and is responsible for numerous single audits and financial audits for various non-profit and governmental organizations, school districts and authorities within the Philadelphia Economic Unit of McGladrey. She is proficient in the operations of non-profit and government entities and the related accounting and fiscal issues. Colleen brings a unique understanding of the issues facing non-profit and governmental entities. Ms. Williams has been awarded the Certificate of Educational Achievement (CEA) in Non-profit Accounting and Auditing from AICPA for successful completion of an integrated program in Non-profit Accounting and Auditing. Dr. Carlton Payne

Carlton Payne, Ph.D., a practicing psychotherapist, author, professor, talk show host and musician, is one of the most widely sought-after experts in his field. Dr. Payne currently serves as Chief of Psychology for the Philadelphia Prison System where he is responsible for strategic plans, programs, and services related to psychological interventions for inmates and supporting staff members. Upon completion of his doctorate in psychology at Temple University, Dr..Carlton worked in the Juvenile Justice system, the Court of Common pleas and prison system, helping clients overcome violence and anxiety. After becoming the first African American chief psychologist for the Philadelphia Prison System and a professor of human development at the University of Pennsylvania, he decided to build a clinical practice focused on the mental health needs of families. He opened a clinic near the North Philadelphia neighborhood where he grew up. Dr. Payne garnered a large following as a popular talk show co-host on WURD Radio 900 AM in Philadelphia. He has authored several books, including the controversial new book, How to Marry the Man that You Want (Even If You are Already Married), which will be released in December 2008. Dr. Carlton is also the author of How to Triumph Over Tragedy, which is a top selling guide to overcoming adversity. Dr. Payne and is a frequent guest on the Lisa Forman Show in New York. He is also the host of a popular cable television program, Triumph over Tragedy and lives in Philadelphia with his family.

Dr. Elijah Anderson

Elijah Anderson, Ph.D. is the William K. Lanman, Jr. Professor of Sociology at Yale University. An expert on the sociology of black America, he is the author of the classic sociological work, A Place on the Corner: A Study of Black Street Corner Men (1978) and numerous articles on the black experience, including "Of Old Heads and Young Boys: Notes on the Urban Black Experience" (1986), commissioned by the National Research Council's Committee on the Status of Black Americans, "Sex Codes and Family Life among Inner-City Youth" (1989), and "The Code of the Streets," which was the cover story in the May 1994 issue of The Atlantic Monthly. For his ethnographic study Streetwise: Race, Class and Change in an Urban Community (1990), he was honored with the Robert E. Park Award, for the best published book in the area of Urban Sociology, of the American Sociological Association. Dr. Anderson authored the Introduction to the republication of The Philadelphia Negro by W.E.B. DuBois (1996), and his expanded version of the Atlantic piece, The Code of the Street: Decency, Violence, and the Moral Life of the Inner City was published by W.W. Norton (1999). Professor Anderson has served as Visiting Professor at Swarthmore College, Yale University, and Princeton University. In addition, he has also won the Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching at Penn and was named the Robin M. Williams, Jr., Distinguished Lecturer for 1999-2000 by the Eastern Sociological Association. Dr. Anderson is director of the Philadelphia Ethnography Project, associate editor of Qualitative Sociology, and other professional journals, a member of the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Political and Social Science, and Vice President of the American Sociological Association. He was a member of the National Research Council's Panel on the Understanding and Control of Violent Behavior, which published its report in 1993. Other topics with which he concerns himself are the social psychology of organizations, field methods of social research, social interaction, and social organization. He received a B.A. degree from Indiana University, an M.A. degree from the University of Chicago, and a Ph.D. degree from Northwestern University, where he was a Ford Foundation Fellow. Professor Anderson is the past Vice President of the American Sociological Association.

Dr. Jason Wingard

Jason Wingard, Ph.D., is Chairman of the Zoeza Institute, a non-profit organization that provides transitional programs and services to at-risk youth. He serves as Vice Dean of Executive Education at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, where he is responsible for overseeing an organization that provides open enrollment and custom programs to senior executives worldwide. Previously, Dr. Wingard served as SVP of Regional Markets at ePals, Inc. and President & CEO of the ePals Foundation. ePals, Inc. is the world's leading provider of school-safe collaborative learning products, and the ePals Foundation is a non-profit operating foundation providing best-in-class educational solutions for underserved children, families, and communities around the world. Both organizations focus on social networking applications that increase literacy skills, critical thinking competencies, and cultural awareness models. Prior to joining ePals, he was Executive Director of the Stanford Educational Leadership Institute (SELI) at Stanford University. At SELI, he was responsible for building and leading the center, overseeing program development, design, and implementation, and managing a multi-million dollar operating budget. He has also served in a variety of cross-functional executive roles for organizations including the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, the Vanguard Group, and Silicon Graphics (SGI). During his career, Dr. Wingard has gained experience and provided customized leadership and professional development solutions for a variety of sectors including corporate, non-profit, sports & entertainment, higher education, and k-12 education. He has taught courses on entrepreneurship, management, and organizational learning at both Stanford University and the University of Pennsylvania. He has also conducted management and leadership development seminars, workshops, and coaching interventions around the world. Dr. Wingard currently serves on the Board of Directors for the National Center for Fathering (www.fathers.com) and is active in several ministries at The Christian Church in Philadelphia. Previously, he served on the Board of Directors for United Cerebral Palsy of Philadelphia. He holds a bachelors degree in Organizational Behavior & Social Psychology from Stanford University, a masters degree in Education from Emory University, a master's degree in Technology in Education from Harvard University, and a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania. He lives with his wife and four daughters in Chestnut Hill, PA.

Dr. Joseph Radelet

Since 1999, Joseph Radelet has served as Big Brothers Big Sisters of America's Vice President of Mentoring Programs. In this position, he manages program development, agency development for Big Brothers Big Sisters' national network, research and evaluation, Hispanic mentoring, recruitment, and community/ corporate partnerships. Before joining Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, Radelet, served as the President and CEO, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Detroit, where he oversaw a dramatic growth of annual matches and developed measures to increase the quality of mentoring and volunteer services. Prior to that, Radelet held positions with the Metropolitan Detroit Youth Foundation, Detroit Public School system, and the National Conference of Christians and Jews. Radelet earned his Doctorate in Education from the University of Michigan, a Masters Degree is Business Administration and Urban Planning from Wayne State University, and a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from Sacred Heart Seminary in Detroit.

Kathleen Kirkpatrick

Kathleen Kirkpatrick is an Associate Attorney with the Law Firm of Booth & Tucker, LLP where she focuses her practice on civil and commercial litigation on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants. Prior to joining Booth & Tucker, Kathleen practiced plaintiffs' civil litigation at a law firm in Philadelphia. Kathleen also served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Howland W. Abramson of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas and maintained a solo practice in the areas of criminal and family law. Kathleen has extensive experience in a variety of areas and in multiple courts in Philadelphia. Additionally, Kathleen has experience assisting small organizations incorporate as non-profits and attain tax free status. Kathleen was born and raised in Montgomery County, attended Temple Law School and has remained in Philadelphia since. Kathleen is actively involved in the community and performs pro bono work in which she volunteers her time to represent the indigent. She was recognized for such work by the Philadelphia Judiciary and received the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania's pro bono award in 2007. Michael Caven

Michael Caven has a long career of community activism and business entrepreneurship. The co-owner of Out On Main Restaurant and Main Street Investments, Michael helped transform the culinary and real estate landscape in Columbus, Ohio. His board commitments included: Capital Crossroads District, Downtown South, Stonewall Community Center and co-founder of the FLIP Foundation and the Legacy Fund at the Columbus Foundation. In recent years in Center City, Philadelphia, Michael founded Caven Real Estate Associates LP, purchased an old apartment house at 16th and Pine and converted the building to six condominiums. He also did stints at the Joseph J Peter's Institute working with juvenile offenders and developing the Senior outreach and education programs at William Way Community Center. Michael currently focuses on real estate marketing and sales, working primarily with investors, developers and first-time home buyers. Michael earned a Master of Science in Social Agency Social Work and Counseling at the University of Dayton. He shares a home near Avenue of the Arts with his partner of nearly five years.

Phillip Cuffey is Executive Director of the Zoeza Institute, where he manages development and operations for an organization focused on transition support interventions for disadvantaged youth. He also serves as Principal of the Zoeza Group and is responsible for the management and delivery of a cross-industry portfolio of consulting clients. Prior to joining the Zoeza Group and the Zoeza Foundation, Mr. Cuffey spent more than 20 years as a manager at Verizon (formerly AT&T and Bell Atlantic) where he gained specialized management expertise in the areas of operations, sales, marketing, and client services. In this capacity, he managed corporate-wide multi-million dollar projects that resulted in systemic change improvements. Mr. Cuffey is also a seasoned real estate and community development executive with significant experience providing historical property owner representation for zoning variance, historical commission requirements, permit application, building standards, community association negotiation, project management, and lease/purchase transactions. Mr. Cuffey has played an integral role in the development, implementation, and management of a significant number of civic and community organizations and projects. He is Co-Founder and Director of the Building Exceptional Lifelong Leadership (BELL) Mentoring Initiative and past President of the Consortium of Information and Telecommunication Executives (CITE). He has served as a mentor for the YMCA Achievers program and received the National Hero Award (Mentor of the Year) for his work with Big Brothers Big Sisters Association of Philadelphia. Finally, serves as a member of the trustee ministry at Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Germantown. Mr. Cuffey received his bachelor's degree in Urban Studies, with a concentration in Management, from the University of Pennsylvania where he was a member of the boxing team. He also received his master's degree in Organizational Management from the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Cuffey resides in Philadelphia with his wife and two children.

Virginia P. Sikes

Ms. Sikes serves on the Exempt Organizations Committee of the American Bar Association Section of Taxation and on the faculty of The Pennsylvania Bar Institute, which provides continuing legal education through The Pennsylvania Bar Association. Virginia P. Sikes is a partner in the Business Department and chair of the Tax Section at Montgomery, McCracken, Walker & Rhoads, LLP. She serves as the firm's Financial Partner and a member of the firm's Management Committee. Her practice concentrates on tax controversies, state and local taxation, and tax-exempt organizations. Ms. Sikes has served as counsel to other law firms on tax-exempt and state and local tax issues. She has counseled tax-exempt organizations on numerous matters, including a reorganization involving the creation of the first national bank held by an exempt organization. Ms. Sikes has represented national corporations in Pennsylvania corporate net income, franchise and sales tax controversies. Ms. Sikes is a member of the American, Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Bar Associations. Ms. Sikes is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania. Ms. Sikes earned her A.B. and M.Ed. degrees from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC. As an undergraduate, she was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society.
