Bernard is a Fellow of the RICS, a Registered Valuer and an Honours Member of the Institute of Rating, Revenues and Valuation Bernard Smith is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and holds a post graduate Diploma in Arbitration from the University College of Estate Management Bernard has an Honours degree in Estate management from the University of Reading and a post graduate Diploma in Arbitration from the University College of Estate Management. He is a Fellow of the RICS, a Registered Valuer and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He is also an Honours member of the Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation. Bernard is a frequent visitor to construction sites and holds a Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) certificate and a Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Professionally Qualified Person card. Bernard is also a qualified UAV (drone) pilot and holds a General Visual Line of Sight (GVC) and an A2 Certificate of Competence which allows flight at reduced separation distances with larger aircraft. In March 2015, Bernard was appointed a Vice-President of the Uckfield Chamber of Commerce and in November 2015 became Chairman and President. In April 2016 Bernard was re-elected and at the AGM in 2017 he was again voted President and Chairman for a third time. He retired from office in March 2018 to concentrate on plans for expansion of the practice. At the 2016 Uckfield Business Awards, Bernard was presented with the award for Business Person of the Year (Male). In his spare time, Bernard enjoys motor sport, music and is determined that at some point he will produce a recognisable tune on his guitar. He has dual British & Maltese citizenship and is a frequent traveller both to the Maltese islands and beyond.

Delight assists in both the professional and agency teams at Oldfield Smith & Co. He is working towards his AssocRICS qualification and then aims to progress to full Chartered status. Delight has previously worked for a large national construction company, gaining valuable knowledge of building management and quantity surveying. He is now applying these skills to a much wider range of disciplines and actively working across a full range of instructions. Born in Islington and raised in Sussex, Delight brings his youthful energy and versatility to the team. Delight's previous experience ensures that he has strong core knowledge of the property market, how to effectively manage client relationships and deliver quality service. In his spare time, Delight can often be found in the gym or on the football pitch. Delight is a football coach in Eastbourne working with a local club, hosting football birthday parties and delivering one-to-one sessions. It's safe to say that he is a football fanatic! Delight has an outstanding work ethic and impressed us immediately with his commitment to learning. He's an incredibly bright individual with outstanding academic results, but also has a practical approach to problem solving.

Liz has been part of the team since Oldfield Smith & Co were founded in 2013, looking after the finances of the business. As the practice has grown, this has become a strategic role with a need to budget for our further expansion as well as manage income and expenditure. Liz has an Honours degree in Law from the University of Wolverhampton and has previously worked in the asset management department of a major Bank, where she gained a working knowledge of the property industry.

After obtaining her Degree in 2006, Hannah has worked for a range of well established professional practices in senior positions, covering a wide range of disciplines. These have included valuation, development, property management and LPA receivership. She has a mature approach and outstanding communication skills. Hannah is an RICS Registered Valuer as well as a Member of the RICS. Hannah Bickersteth is an RICS Registered Valuer Hannah is our lead Surveyor for formal valuation work as well as landlord and tenant matters such as rent reviews and lease renewals. Hannah also works with our management and agency teams. Hannah lives locally but is well traveled, having trekked through the Biwindi forest in Uganda where she was lucky enough to view gorillas in their natural habitat. She has also spent time travelling through Eastern Europe to Sweden. Whilst at home she enjoys spending time with her family and taking her children out on adventures

Born in Brighton and raised in Sussex, Richard has a wealth of experience across a wide variety of business sectors. Richard holds a Certificate in Commercial and Business Transfer from the ICBA and is a Fellow of the National Association of Estate Agents Having started his own company at a young age, he has been working with local businesses for over 30 years. In the highly competitive world of support services, Richard was able to build a successful and profitable firm, which he sold as a going concern in order to concentrate exclusively on commercial property.

Richard has been working as a Commercial Property agent since the Millennium and in that time has developed an enviable reputation as a "deal maker", accurately matching requirements with available properties. Richard is a Fellow of the National Association of Estate Agents and is one of a select few to have passed their specialist course in Commercial Estate Agency, earning his Certificate in Commercial and Business Transfer. Sue joined the practice in 2016 and has been working in the property industry for over 25 years. She brings to Oldfield Smith & Co the benefit of that experience and is able to communicate effectively with our clients. Sue is a Member of the National Association of Estate Agents and works predominantly within our Agency team, negotiating sales and lettings of properties we have available from our Uckfield office. She has a fantastic knowledge of the local area and works on transactions from initial appraisal through advertising and marketing to viewings and overseeing completion. Sue has a great enthusiasm for matching the needs of buyers and sellers, getting the deal right and finding solutions which benefit both parties. In additional to Agency, Sue handles the day to day running of the practice, client liaison, marketing and administration. Outside of work, Sue is a keen cyclist and animal lover with her dog Cooper being a regular visitor to the office. Sue has an infectious enthusiasm and a relentlessly positive attitude. Always full of energy and is a real team player. We have received some great feedback from our clients, who all enjoy dealing with her. Sue is a really key member of the team and fitted in immediately. We all genuinely enjoy working together and there is a great spirit of trust and respect amongst us.
