Dr. Eric M. Kraus

Dr. Eric M. Kraus is an accomplished, skilled surgeon. He has been practicing in Greensboro since 1983 and has had many years of experience treating both adults and children. Dr. Kraus received his specialty training in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery (ear, nose, and throat) at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, IA. Dr. Kraus was selected by his chief, Dr. Brian McCabe, to be the Chief Resident during his senior year. From 1982-83, he also completed an American Cancer Society Head & Neck Cancer Fellowship. Our surgeon, Eric M. Kraus, M.D., M.S., is Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and is an active Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Our physician is specialized in treating diseases of the ear (Otology) as well as pediatric patients (Pediatric Otolaryngology). It is our philosophy that sub-specialization within our practice allows us to deliver the highest quality, "super-specialty" care to our patients by a surgeon who is not only well-trained but has continuously refined his skills on a daily basis for over 36 years.

Dr. William F. House

Dr. House was the founder of Hearing for Children, a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization dedicated to making cochlear implants available worldwide to as many needy and deserving deaf children and adults as possible. This is accomplished by outright gifting of implants, providing low or no interest loans for their purchase, and by promoting cost-effective research to create low-cost, high quality, safe and effective cochlear implants. Dr. House was a remarkable medical pioneer and genuine visionary. Some of his major contributions to the field of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery include: Ear microsurgery Otosclerosis surgery Facial recess approach Endolymphatic shunt Middle fossa approach Translabyrinthine approach Cochlear implants Cochlear nucleus implants Electrophonic hearing theory Neurotology Dr. House died on December 7, 2012 at the age of 89 years (1923-2012). He was a quintessential visionary, medical pioneer, thoughtful thinker, teacher, mentor, and friend. "Dr. Bill" advanced the field of otorhinolaryngology more than any other single physician in history.
