Hunter Coatings is a Benjamin Moore Signature Store owned and operated by Andy and Jenny Stanush. They met and married in Wisconsin. They started a family in Texas. They bought a paint company in North Carolina. And that's how the Stanush family story begins. But the story of Hunter Coatings began long before Andy and Jenny were born... Hunter Coatings was founded by Vernon Hunter in 1947 as "Hunter Paint" on Church Street in downtown Charlotte, NC. Hunter Coatings' oldest customer, Mint Hill Cabinet Shop, a one-man operation owned by M. C. Carriker, began purchasing product from Hunter when it opened in 1962. Mint Hill Cabinet Shop, currently owned by John Carriker, son of the founder, remains a very important customer of Hunter Coatings today...
